| If we win this game 03:30 - Jul 6 with 2423 views | Sarge | It’ll be the greatest England victory in my lifetime. Mexico have been given every conceivable advantage before the game, a nonsensical penalty, and a red card. | | | | |

| If we win this game on 03:35 - Jul 6 with 2024 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I didn't realise you were so young. What was nonsensical about the penalty? It was a foul by Kane. It was also a clear red card. Two instances of VAR working as it should do. Unfortunately both against England but clearly right in both instances. The only thing that hasn't been correct has been the ref failing to book their keeper for the foul for our penalty. | |

Don't know about the pen, looked soft and like the atmosphere tipped the balance. Red definitely

It’s the most minor of contact. Not sufficient to do anything, and contact does not equal foul. If that’s a foul then everything’s a foul and we may as well play netball.

You know the penalty we got at Carrow Rd - if you think that was a penalty then you can’t argue with with one.

I didn’t think that was a penalty either. I’ve been consistently downvoted on here for lack of bias, like the Middlesbrough and Norwich penalties.

He should have booked at least one of their players for delaying our penalty.

Altitude, kick off times, crowd disturbing the players at the hotel, S American VAR people, marginal decisions going their way, endless added minutes - let’s play till Mexico score is how it felt. Yet they came through.
| If we win this game on 05:10 - Jul 6 with 1600 views | _CliveBaker_ | I thought the ref had some balls to be fair, in a hostile atmosphere he got most things right. Ours was a pen and you can’t argue about the Quansah red halfway up his shin. He doesn’t give their pen and real time and gets called over to the monitor, I think on 2nd viewing I can see why he’s given it. It was a bit Taylor at Carrow Road like. | | | |

But Mexico were supposed to win weren't they? Agree, best England win for ages. Had to show some real 'dog' to get through that.

That was always called going over the top of the ball. It’s harsh that his foot was high because it bounced up off the ball, yet it was still high and caught their player badly high up the leg. They’re leg breakers if the opponent has his leg planted.

He has cleared the ball and tapped him on the toe with the follow through, ridiculous decision which was unfortunately entirely predictable with that ref

I didn't think Kane even made contact with the ball? He kicked through the attacker's heal and the attacker's foot made contact with the ball? Hence penalty.
| If we win this game on 08:46 - Jul 6 with 956 views | JammyDodgerrr | I don't think anybody wants that to be a penalty because there is nothing in it, but it is a penalty in the game today. Surprised it even had to go to VAR. | |

He didn’t touch the ball, he went through the back of the lower calf / ankle. Don’t get me wrong it’s a little soft but I can see why it was given. Tuchel’s been really critical of the ref, I’m not sure I can see it really. First 25 minutes when we were looking to draw fouls and stop them getting up any momentum I thought he did a pretty good job of giving them. Lesser refs would’ve bottled those. He had 3 big calls and got them right I though (albeit he missed 2 live)

Yeah, no way was that a penalty. Contact like that happens all the time, if the Mexicans hadn't made a massive thing of it then no one would have even noticed. Also a very soft foul that lead to their first goal.

Its mad sitting watching the slow descent of football into a minimal contact sport. And yet the Italians will work out a way to still practice the dark arts.

| If we win this game on 09:27 - Jul 6 with 757 views | iamatractorboy | I genuinely don't understand the complaints about the penalty. Kane kicked the back of the Mexican player's heel, and didn't get the ball first, end of story. | | | |

Maybe that's why Italy haven't been to a World Cup since 2014. They can't practise the dark arts anymore? Or at least not like they used to.
