Every single manager option is a punt at our level.
Most will be totally unknown in terms of what they will deal with here.
He is actually one of only a few who clearly want the job, has an apetite for building a club his way (which we need given Evans and Milne offer little day to day support) and currently manages in a top division against 4 or 5 high profile teams on a budget worse than he'd get here.
I'd say he ticks many boxes and is far less of a risk than many on the list. [Post edited 19 Apr 2018 8:17]

On that basis though there is nobody in the list you could say that about, other than Warburton.
Cowley, who knows what he'd be like, same for Gerrard, Lampard, Kuqi, etc.
He is courted by bigger clubs in Holland, kept a team in the top division with a ground capacity of 8000 facing the likes of Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord etc. He is young, focuses on player and youth development and likes to build the club his way.
I'd say from what we know, he is the standout candidate. | | | |

Biggest surprise is how relatively few feel it needs to be a former player, someone who knows t club.
Steijn is clearly, on his track record, worthy of an interview. It will be up to Marcus, and whoever else is involved in the interview process to decide if he is the right man. A lot is going to depend on wether Marcus is willing to fund a DoF if his best options for manager are likely to need support from someone with relative experience. Same could apply for Gerrard for example. |  |
