The challenge for today 11:38 - Aug 2 with 1446 views | Bluefish | Warkthewark or whatever he is called needs some help Can you name 5 well run football clubs. Decent viable business models opposed to big spending with current on field success. A big clue to that is man city are not well run just because they win things and spend lots I'll give you a start with Accrington

The challenge for today on 11:45 - Aug 2 with 1402 views | GeoffSentence | Based on them making a small profit when they were last in the Championship, Saturday's opponents Burton Albion seem to be pretty well run. They are an itty bitty little club with crowds of around 4-5k yet they still manage to challenge for promotion to the championship and have a commercial income that is similar to ours.

They were my next thought after Accrington so we will take them. 3 more to go A few said Posh but Darragh had to go out and find new investors for them because it was getting too much and they must be making big losses.

They were utterly fooked without the promotion and they wanted the manager out during the season. They are better run than so many though

they made a substantial profit in 2017/18 5th biggest in the league, and at the same time I think they finished 7th

They do seem to try and operate a sustainable model though. Compare their spending this summer with Villa's £140m splurge, and Fulham's £100m the previous summer. Likewise, they work on a principle that every player has their price, and nobody is irreplaceable. Yes, there has been the issue with big sales/promotions seemingly coming in the nick of time, but they certainly make every effort not to run at a loss.

Hate to agree with this but I have to. Their managerial appointments, recruitment and (from the sounds of things) community outreach have been so far ahead of ours in the last decade it’s been embarrassing.

Wolves are the furthest away from well run club as possible. They are everything wrong with football. Any of our fans that aspire to be wolves should find a new club

Half our fans would definitely cheat at Football Manager by also being the boss of Real Madrid and buying Skuse for 200 million.
