Not in a back three.

I love Tommy, I really do and he is a step up from Nsiala (assuming he does sign) and he would be a decent signing if he's still at the level he was when he left us. But if we persist with a back three...other than balance....he's not the ball playing CB we need.

Not if we needed (/need) to know we were moving a player out first.

I thought Tommy and Phil were confident he was getting another contract at Colerado ?

According to their website, they are not renewing his contract.

It is a strange one, I am not sure how things work in the states but they have definitely not taken up his contract option, which I guess means he is now a free agent. But I suppose he could still negotiate a new contract with them.

Would be yet another good bit of business by Lambert.

Hope Toto gets his move as well, deserves a fresh start and still at a big club.

Smith and Woolfenden long term pair, or Smith / Chambers / Woolfenden as a long term trio.

Smith's been training with us for over a month, if there was any scope of signing him; I'm sure it would have been done now.

Hope to be proved wrong however.

Smith was on a good bit of whack over in the states, he was part of the $650,000 bracket per season, works out at $12,500 a week.

Probably would have been on £6,000 a week here, so it was no brainer over there then, but I believe the regulations are changing and they longer wanted him at the cap rate and were negotiating a contract at a lower cap rate.

Depends which Tommy we get, he should be the nuts at this level but he has had a few injury issues. Knowing our luck we'd be wheeling him to the touchline and dumping him onto the pitch at 2:59pm most weeks.

I wonder if young Zouma is available. Was very much one for the future but could be moulded into an imposing centre back with some work.

Are we remembering Tommy in his prime though ? I certainly wouldn't want Wolfie to lose his place

I'm not sure Chambers and Tommy would be either quick or mobile enough against speedy attackers

He was negotiating a new deal with them but from something I heard the other day that's no longer something which is being discussed. Town not interested though I believe, although whether that might change I don't know.

Well as most think Woofie has been our best CB this year thats not likely , Tommy is a leftie of course and all four of our CB's are not happy on the left side .

That was how I understood the situation before Christmas, that the option on the previous deal hadn't been taken up and they were discussing new terms, but heard the other day that that's now not happening.

I could understand not being interested with current situation. Were Toto to leave, it would seem very sensible business to readdress that.

However, presume we could be some way apart on wages.

TS is a limited centre half, IMO, very much one footed , and if he did resign for us I think a few would be very disappointed by the level of his performance now.
He’s been out of the English game long enough at his age for iit to really “ show”, IMO. So resigning him doesn’t fill me with any great hope tbh.
