Brexiteers - how are you spending tomorrow evening? 23:32 - Jan 30 with 18723 viewsThe_Last_Baron

In what is a historic occasions how are you planning to mark the occasion?

I've got a table at a great Italian restaurant booked in south London and then when we've had our fill we are heading down to Parliament Square for a bit before going for a good old knees up at an exclusive venue which we expect some of the Brexit big hitters to be in attendance. The feeling is it's going to be an all nighter so we will probably be rolling in at 8am having danced the night away.

It should be quite the night.

I love Europe, the cultures, architecture, food, people, pretty much everything about the continent.

I detest the undemocratic, dictatorial political project called the European Union. Two different things laddie.

After the Italian food I'll be sinking Belgian beer, the finest in the world.

I think the correct answer is

1) Go up to a Frenchman, German, Belgian etc
2) Ask them to give you an order and pay them to do so
3) Do what they ask without any say in it whatsoever

Because that’s what we’ll be doing for at least the next year, until we can repeat the cycle, just with an American, a Japanese and a Korean, when they bend us over a barrel from our position of weakness in trade negotiations.

Rule Britannia!

How do you feel about Nicky Morgan and Zac Goldsmith serving in government despite either losing or not standing in the recent GE? It's a but rich to complain the EU is undemocratic when most votes cast in GEs in the UK get chucked in the bin and we have a second chamber that is entirely unelected. It's almost like you've not really given this any thought and you're just blindly repeating tropes based on raw prejudice.

I'm pleased.

Normal night here. Early to bed, however I might open a nice Pomerol and buy a juicy steak for supper.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

In fairness, if someone’s idea of Europe is the beer and places to go on a weekend trip, very little is going to change for them.

And nothing will change until Dec 31st of course I’m terms of the freedom to visit/stay.

He's entitled to his view.

Maybe Brexit MEP's wanted to change it from within or make a fuss and highlight some of the problems they see within it.

Maybe they wanted to pocket a pay cheque and wave a Union Flag.

I dunno, but he's still entitled to his view.

Most people who come on here and admit to being a brexiter just get a barrage of juvenile abuse with comments thrown at them about racism, blue passports, little Englanders, thick gammons etc.

I do believe you have joined in this chorus Harold so not sure why you are acting the innocent.

It's boring.

IF it's a view based on personal experience.

On the other hand, IF it's just trotting out the pro-Brexit propaganda we've been force fed in a certain element of the press and by the people who've used it to get on politically, it's just meaningless drivel. So many people claim to detest the EU without knowing the first thing about it, which is a bit silly.

Nothing's going to change though, so I don't know why it bothers me so much.

If people are happy celebrating the way we've behaved like a spoilt toddler, that's up to them I suppose. Enjoy it while they can as the hard work starts now.

You can easily reverse that as well - Definite info.

Yep, you can. But Brexit is the movement. This has happened because enough people have been convinced that the EU is bad for them. There's bound to be a reaction.
