More traffic on the roads and people in the streets. 18:19 - Apr 16 with 2595 views | hampstead_blue | I've noticed a real uplift in the amount of cars on the road and people hanging out. Do they not understand? Has anyone noticed an increase in their area? [Post edited 16 Apr 2020 18:19]

| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

More traffic on the roads and people in the streets. on 18:22 - Apr 16 with 2581 views | gainsboroughblue | When I did a shopping and pharmacy run for clients this morning, I noticed a marked increase on the main roads. I also live in view of the Orwell Bridge and that seemed busier than it had been when I looked out earlier.

I noticed an uplift in vehicles over the Bank Holiday weekend compared to the week before.

That never really made any sense, though. If we're peaking in terms of deaths now, then a slight relaxation of social distancing isn't going to have a massive effect, because hospitalised patient numbers are already dropping.

Today and yesterday I was Ipswich and the car park just before the station (coming from the docks) had 6 cars. I counted them. Literally a ghost town today. A few people in their front gardens - chatting with neighbours - but all socially distancing. Longish queues at the Sainsburys yesterday (was early) but again, all 2m apart.

I was around east Ipswich this afternoon, shopping trip for FIND (group of friends decided we'd start regular contributions). I was amazed how much traffic was about. The shops were not busy at all, compared with a normal Thursday afternoon during school holidays, so I can't work out why there were so many cars.

Very quiet and great for cycling all around the town. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I was there today - stood outside with my Towen retro top on :-)

I suppose the risk is a slight second wave before the peak declines by a reasonable amount.

More traffic on the roads and people in the streets. on 19:27 - Apr 16 with 2407 views | Swansea_Blue | I took the car out yesterday for the first time in 4 weeks and was a little surprised at the amount of people around. Quite a lot along the sea front in Swansea, but they could have been local of course just having an allowable walk. There were loads of people at B&Q picking up compost and plants. Can’t see how they’re essential. My trip to buy a single tap washer seemed a bit overkill, but they won’t post.

It depends where you are,A120 Colchester to Stanstead is a good one sometimes deserted other times like a normal day. Got to admit though driving the old truck is a lot easier than ‘normal’ times. Keep your distance 😀

More traffic on the roads and people in the streets. on 21:31 - Apr 16 with 2209 views | bournemouthblue | I was made redundant 2 weeks before this all kicked off so the timing couldn't have been worse for me from a job perspective with interested employers disappearing over night For me when I have done my shopping, the quietest I have seen it was three weeks ago when people were being ultra cautious and didn't know quite what to do At this stage, quite a lot of people were still working but the following week it appeared quite a lot of people had been sent home and now free to shop during the day, hence the uplift in numbers The following 2 weeks have been busier but having shoppped slightly earlier today, I would say it was marginally quieter We live right by an allotments and yesterday in particular is the busiest I have seen it for a week or two. I think people appear to be more confident in what they can do and get away with. The allotments in particular seem to be a bit of a loophole and I'm not suggesting people aren't respecting 2 metre distancing, it is an area you can harvest food and I suppose technically it's exercise but a lot of people share the same gate, touch the lock and could potentially be spreading the virus nearer local residents and fellow allotment users. More traffic on the roads and people in the streets. on 21:40 - Apr 16 with 2167 views | Plums | I went for a bike ride on Tuesday and turned back because of the amount of traffic, particularly HGVs. Definitely wasn’t the Sunday morning feel I was expecting. There may have been a road closure somewhere that made it worse but loads more about than a week ago.

If that's regular attire, I'll say hi next week as I am likely to be dropping bags off a few times - our initial group of 6 has grown quite a bit, but I'm the designated deliverer. Keeps me out of trouble some of the time at least.

yeah Tuesday surprised me too how busy it was, you literally wouldnt have thought it wasnt anything but a normal day on some of the roads, but then I went out today and the more rural roads still seem busier than they should imo, I cycle those roads all the time through the year and rarely encounter that many cars and yet Im encountering cars far more frequently on the back roads but the more main roads are near completely empty which was great. but yeah what traffic there is is often speeding too, difficult to judge on country roads that are NSL, but riding through town on 30mph roads and someone overtakes you so fast that looks more like they are doing 50-60mph, wtf is that about ?
