Rushing to x for a much needed z?
Waiting a few days to see how the land lies?
Staying with internet shopping?

Am giving it a few days before sorting out a few cycling bits. Not really a big shopper to nowt else on my radar tbh.

You could have sorted out a few cycling bits at any time over the last 3 months. Cycling shops didnt close.

Did do a few bits online. Took some shoes back to Halfords but they wouldnt let me in to try any on so figured I'd wait a few weeks.

Mountain warehouse was open too I think.

Won't go rushing to the shops today, but at the weekend I will go to Coes as I need some new running trainers, and also to the mobile phone shops in town as I am due an upgrade.

Wife's birthday in a couple of weeks as well.

Have you seen the lines of people outside Primark in London today? Baffling.

People just can't help themselves. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Any big shops will see big queues, due to the social distancing measures. Just like the supermarkets.

Without getting some support from consumers, millions will lose their jobs.

It's a balance.

I know what you mean, I wouldn't do it, but;

1. Primark are pretty much the cheapest clothing store out there, and many people rely on that.

2. They probably thought that by getting there early they would beat the queues, or at least get stock before it runs out.

...most importantly;

3. Primark doesnt have an online shop!

I don't ever really go shopping in the city anyway, so won't be rushing out to do so now.

Agree there will some people doing essential returns and stuff but there will definitely be lots of pointless pottering going on.

I couldn't think of anything worse than going shopping as a leisure activity, now more than ever. I will have to go to TK Maxx at some point in the next month or so but will go 20 minutes before it closes out of Town.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I would love to go out and spend money because I think the economy really needs it and I do feel very sorry for a lot of the retailers. Having said that I just can't face it in this environment.

That’s pretty pious.

You’ve no window into the people who’ve not done anything for three months. Just because your instinct isn’t to head to primark, that normality is clearly appealing to a lot of people today.

Trailing vapour since 1999.

Unless people are turning up to these stores commando/in weather inappropriate clothing/shredded clothing/semi naked then I really do not understand their motivation for clothes shopping right now.

I also cannot get my head around camping outside the f*cking store and their failure to observe the 2 metre guidance.

If that makes me pious in your eyes that's fine mate.

If the people in the queue for Primark Ipswich are wearing its stuff, then it's not a great advert...

Horses for courses.

Some people feel the need to head to the shops the minute they open, some people feel the need to critique said people on a football forum. Everyone’s a winner.

I just think it's an indictment of the shallow consumerism of modern capitalist societies that people are actually queuing to buy cheap products at the first available opportunity when we're still in the midst of a pandemic. Each to their own I guess.

They weren't demonstrating against institutional racism so they'll be perfectly safe.
