They aren't great but played some excellent attacking football after the break and Fernandes made a massive difference.

This is silly. Any conspiracy that It's just get given more penalties can be easily disproved if you go and look at the facts. It's more style of play then anything else. Since Solkjaer came in Utd have topped pens two seasons in a row. 3 seasons before that Utd were 10th, 15th and 15th for pens. Did officials just decide they didn't like Utd for a bit. No obviously not. They went from a slow tempo, big man up from passing style to a more high tempo, counter attacking game based on 3 pacey strikers up front directed to run at defenders in the box. I wonder if you would expect more pens in that style.
Palace played a similar style with Saha and Bolasi previously and guess what...they topped pens table previously. It's not a conspiracy...it's actually easily explainable. |  |

I'm not sure why a few think I think that this is a conspiracy theory, I was merely pointing out it is a mad statistic.
In the league they had 14, Man City 11 and Liverpool 6
For touches in the box they were way behind Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea
For passes into the box they were still behind them by a distance.
Long term, I can't imagine this will sustain, it's an incredible number to get in a season whatever the reasons for it. [Post edited 11 Aug 2020 10:19]
