Voting Trump in once was a mistake, re-electing him would leave room for no excuses what so ever.
There's an old saying in Tennessee – I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee – that says, fool me once, shame on – shame on you. Fool me – you can't get fooled again.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show
It's odd to think that intervention is really aimed a small fraction of Americans who are the true floating voters and will make the difference.
Most of Trump's base explain away anything he says by adding him into the 'pizzagate' nonsense conspiracy.
Obama's intervention is to get out the Black vote, in the face of voter suppression in Black majority districts in some potential swing States and a deliberate campaign being waged against the US Postal Service by the White House at the moment in order to suppress Mail-in Ballots.
Obama's speech is extraordinary in that there is a convention that past US Presidents don't directly criticise the current President.
If Biden can persuade G.W. Bush to endorse him then that will be that. That's what i would be asking Bill Clinton to work on now.

One thing I do worry about is that the Dems are focussing more on reasons to vote against Trump, rather than reasons to vote for Biden
Well there aren't many. That poll that was going round the other day about 'reasons to vote Biden' and 'not Trump' was far and away the runaway leader pretty much tells you everything.
The longer this race has gone on, the more and more it has resembled 2016, and the closer it gets to November the better Trump's chances of pulling off a second upset are. The main differences is that the Dem candidate isn't as widely detested and he has the backing of more 'moderate' Republican groups (which isn't a good thing but may push things in his favour).
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I disagree with you on this, but I think a lot of Sanders supporters feel the way you do so it's not am opinion that shoukd be discounted. Whether you think that Biden brings much to the table or not though, I think that David Sedaris has it right.
"I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shît with bits of broken glass in it?”
To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked."
I'm working to get Biden in. And then I'll be doing what I can to make sure Progressive policies are well represented in his administration.

I dont see how Trump could possibly win this election to be honest, unless the Democrats are completely out of step with the American public?
2016 was a fluke however you look at it - Hillary Clinton was the most unpopular democrat candidate for a generation, who also was arrogant and complacent (she didnt visit Wisconsin once on the campaign trail) , and she herself was also swimming in controversy (emails, benghazi, etc), yet Trump still only just won, he didnt even win the popular vote - he won the key states, PA, WI, and MI, by slender margins, and I really cant see lightening striking twice. Also, every 4 years it gets harder and harder for Republicans to win the election with the demographic changes to the US population and younger voters coming of age. If Trump does win this election it will be a huge upset, that said however the Democrats are doing their best to help him to victory - first picking Biden, when lets face it-it should have been Sanders or someone from that wing of the party this time round, and by selecting Biden the Democrats once again are taking that side of their party for granted once again. Biden is the wrong choice, perhaps Harris can save him, but her record isnt great either.

He's laying the ground work for cheating. If it was a fair fight then it would he all over already. But he will adopt every little underhanded tactic he can.
He's fighting for his life. If he loses this election he can either flee to Russia, or die in prison.

Will the rednecks respect Colin Powell's input at all?
Maybe these weird 'haven't made up my mind/might not vote' types might be moved, but anyone still signed up for the Republicans at this stage is fully onboard with the direction the party has taken.

Unlikely, in my opinion.

That'd be a shame. I'm guessing his skin colour might be a factor in that?

I imagine whatever his skin colour, they'll just see him as a traitor now at worst, an irrelevance from the past at best.

The DNC convention. What a shiiteshow.
The Democrats are doing as much as they can to throw this election.
What is your specific complaint exactly?
Over here the Democratic convention has been very warmly received as a reminder of what thoughtful, empathetic statemanship and leadership looks like. Even Fox News was singing Biden's praises.
The only people whining about the convention are those clueless 'come to Jesus' MAGA hat wearing frauds who care more about the performance of their single Tesla share than they care about the hundreds of thousands of lives that could have been saved had they not swooned over a noncy racist.
Meanwhile I'm just here looking forward to the Republican convention. Of course, the Trump ego is due to speak on every damn day of it. His speeches will feature nothing but whining and complaining, reflecting the thoughts of the majority of right wing chodes out there right now.
It's going to be day after day of Trump mumbling incoherent racist shîte. It'll be like open mic night at the dementia and brain damage care centre. So get the fook out of here with your silly 'but both sides' nonsense.
