One of my favorite players back in the day, him and Kevin Wilson were both underrated.
Part of their problem was that they came in not long after our glory years so had the comparison issue we have seen with recent successive Left Backs...

Wilson wasn't underrated as I recall.
Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

Highly rated by all (apart from Bluefish obviously) IIRC
I loved Kevin Wilson. One of that rare breed of footballers who carry off a moustache with aplomb.
Always remember him scoring an early disallowed goal at Portman Rd with an incredible leap for a header, where he out jumped the keeper. Ref gave a foul, but it never was.
I seem to recall the EADT had a great photo sequence of the header on the Monday. Never been able to find those shots, they were great.
David Lowe was a smashing player. A bright light in the dismal Duncan period (little did we know what we’d have to endure 20 years later under life-drainer-Evans).
He had a rather crouched over running style and oversized hair. But he was skilful and knew where the goal was. A good player. I think he got smashed by somebody and was never quite the same afterwards so didn’t form part of Lyall’s promotion side.

Also Tony Adams, yes that one, slagged him off in his autobiography.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Really? I didn't realise they crossed paths? Maybe perhaps in Jockey's Chelsea days?
What did he say? Did Jockey try living up to his nickname and tried riding on the back of the donkey Adams?
Some banter about I have 50 caps you earn 50 quid during a reserve game as Wilson was winding him up so much. I think this was when Adams was starting to realise he had a severe drinking problem.

To be fair to Kevin Wilson, he has 42 international caps him self and is far better looking than Tony Adams.

My favourite Kevin Wilson moment was his winner against Liverpool in 1986. A superb bit of football to win the game late on. The video is on YouTube of the game. Goal is at the end.

In the late 80s Lowe was out best player, had a strange way of running but a very good player. He never was the same after he was injured by Chris Whyte.
Someone mentioned he was miserable. I met him a couple of times during his Town days and he was fine, quiet fella but sound.

I met David Lowe in Reflections nightclub in Harwich, he was the best man at a wedding earlier in the day and many of the guests (& the bride and groom) were on the lash after the reception had finished. It’s not often you see a woman in full bridal gown in a nightclub. I recall that he was surprisingly friendly considering I was a pissed up 18 year old who was eager to make a celebrity friend!

That video a good reminder of just how good Dozzell senior was, even at 18-19.

He was in the promotion winning side, just often a sub but I recall he did score a few that season

Yep, you are right. I thought he was gone the previous season. Old age huh. I see from Wiki he scored in the win at Grimsby in Sept 91, but that’s the last goal I can see from DL. Anyway, I hope he got a Div 2 winners medal, he deserved it.
