You're all right mate. I think we know. Home Secretary for crying out loud, coming out with this rubbish all the time. Fecking embarrassment.

Many of her predecessors did a great job of that through their policing cuts. So maybe she should be angry with them!

Mings calling out Priti Patel on taking the knee on 19:01 - Jun 15 with 2437 views | Oldsmoker | Hmmmm. Excerpt from an article in the Independent. While Johnson called on fans to cheer, rather than boo, the taking of the knee, Home Secretary Patel did not agree, telling GB News she doesn’t “support people participating in that type of gesture politics”. "Telling GB News" is the bit you should be focussed on.

The same GB News whose pundits, I suspect, wouldn't have wanted Patel's family to come here in the first place. But good to see she knows where her loyalties lie.

Yes. For fear of being banned/censured/naughty stepped I think she is known as a "cocon*t".

Is this the same opponent of gesture politics who turned up with a camera crew to a border agency bust while wearing a military style jacket with 'Home Secretary' emblazoned upon it?

She is that bully. And when did she last talk about any Home Office stuff other than immigration?

Mings calling out Priti Patel on taking the knee on 13:59 - Jun 16 with 1747 views | meekreech | Having met Ty , and think he is a good man , I have to object to his comments regarding people who object to the knee situation as being in need of education. To the majority of my friends bending the knee is reserved for two occasions, the first being to God and the second is to the Queen. In our minds bending the knee is a sign of subservience and submission. Nonetheless we are all aware that something needs to be done but feel free to object to something that has been hijacked by an organisation with suspect objectives. Not all the people objecting to “taking the knee “ are being ignorant of the fact that prejudice exists and needs to be addressed. Let people have their own personal opinions without the assumption they are all wrong.

They can think what they like. Just don't insult the players who choose to kneel.

I believe the gesture is based on Martin Luther King adopting a praying position when campaigning for racial equality back in his day. Calling on God to support those who are being oppressed and give strength to those seeking justice. So your friends can kneel away knowing they are following a solid religious precedent. If they are God fearing, then why not ask for God's help for greater equality in any case. I'm not sure about those who regularly kneel to the Queen though. If they're doing it when she's nowhere near they may be beyond help. Although it must be a good habit to get into in case you are ever knighted.
