The state of our fans. 12:19 - Aug 18 with 2262 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Morecambe - great play lots of positives. Coming back twice is not something Chambo and co could have managed, (and didn’t), all season long. Against 14 men including the ref and both assistants. Newport - Their 2nd 11 vs our 2nd 11. Battered them. On another day we score a hatful. Dogsh@t luck. Carrot and Cow Cup. Who cares? Burton - Great play with lots of positives. If Fraser scores his pen, we go onto win. Great save to deny the penalty and Edwards wonderstrike could/should have run out 1-3 winners. Cheltenham - Dominated for large spells in the first half, should have been out of sight before halftime. Cheltenham not the whipping boys some of our less educated support expected. Substitutions too late to be effective. This board - ‘Cook could be sacked if he doesn’t win one of the next two’ ‘Cook has four games to save himself’ ‘The Three Lions are absent’ Absolute bunch of melts. It’s like Twitter has invaded the board. 14 years. 11 of which spent running the club into the ground and underinvestment in the playing squad. And now, that all gets fixed in the space of 15 weeks?

The state of our fans. on 12:25 - Aug 18 with 2192 views | BarcaBlue | I think you are being very selective with your quotes and summary of the matches. I didn't watch the Newport games but we pretty much got what our play deserved from the others, maybe a draw against Burton. There were some bright spots but far too fleeting to get over-excited about for me.
The state of our fans. on 12:25 - Aug 18 with 2191 views | ZXBlue | Not sure what you have been watching. Cheltenham we didnt create a thing second half and were thoroughly under the cosh for most of it.

Cheltenham were 10 minutes away from dumping Man City out of the FA cup last season. Far more established defences than ours have struggled to deal with Tozer's long throws. We are an established 3rd tier team with a very new squad and we need to earn the right to beat sides at the level we find ourselves. That will take time I'm afraid. We have no right to beat anyone just because we're ITFC.

I am. But not to the point this board seems to have gotten to already. It’s embarrassing when it’s as bad in here as on Twitter. Even Cruncher is making more sense than some on here. Cruncher ffs.

Does that mean Sheffield Wednesday can say the same about us? Or should they beat us easily?

The state of our fans. on 13:00 - Aug 18 with 1928 views | Funge | Thing is. it doesn't really matter what you, I or anyone else thinks - the likelihood is that the Yanks are not going to allow PC (or any manager) anywhere near the same amount of leeway as previous owners - be that ME, Sheepy or the Cobbolds. We have an absurdly talented squad for this level - Harper, Edwards, Evans and Fraser get into any other team in the league - and we've had a very kind start to the season, which has manifested appallingly. Whether one apportions blame to Cook, the previous squad of layabouts, COVID, or all three, the fact is that we b0llocksed up the close to last season. A lot of us (myself included) begrudgingly gave PC a pass on this one, several others didn't; the expectation being that this season would be a 'fresh start'... This puts PC in a situation where there is very little leeway for error - subjectively, it's fair to say that his honeymoon period is well and truly over. Am I impatient? Probably, but we need to be doing a shedload better than we are. Some might see it as impatience, others, perhaps, see the continuing acceptance of mediocrity as something that we really, really need to be moving away from. 21k of us idiots turned up against Morecambe, 1,700 went to Burton, and we sold out the away end last night - and this is on the fans? Nah, not having that. Basically we need to start winning some games. We've had 2 excellent chances to do this against promoted teams, we've taken neither chance.

Playing the “14 men of Morecambe” was comedy gold.

For the 5,378th time, it’s people venting after a defeat, discussing what went wrong. Doesn’t mean those people are demanding Cook Out.

Ashton gave Lee Johnson huge amounts of time at Bristol City, so don't think it is nailed on that new guys will be trigger happy - and the way they've backed Cook suggests they won't to me.....but then Johnson was Ashton's man rather than being the incumbent. All bets are off, far easier for everyone if Cook just turns it round!

Re: Bristol - that's interesting, I didn't know that. I would hasten to add, after the absolute dystopia of watching us under Lambert, with Evans 'running' the show (in the loosest sense of the word), I fully expect things to get better - and, of course, there is too much quality in this squad for it not to - but it's a very poor start to the season. I just want to watch my team win some games in Division 3 - is that really such an unrealistic demand? I should add that I am hungover and very p1ssed off today. [Post edited 18 Aug 2021 13:20]
