I can’t even remember him making an appearance, he was that memorable.. thought he just went straight out on loan.

Keiffer Moore on 20:47 - Nov 16 with 1942 views | Swansea_Blue | Funny player. Pops up in spells and can occasional deliver at the top level and is then utter crap the next couple of months. It’s all about whether he’s on top of his game physically I expect. Not a lot else there and seems a bit of a flat track bully. Still, you can see why Mick plucked him out of the lower leagues. He’s done a lot better than we could have expected based on his time here.

Competing for headers. And getting absolutely no where near the ball.

We sold him to Barnsley for around £800k after he had a good loan spell at Rotherham, a year after signing him for £10k.

One of McCarthy’s less successful punts. League 2 fodder. Wrong! Well done Keiffer Moore for developing his talent and career as he has. He is deservedly reaping the rewards from that.

He did make 11 appearances for us, and looked utterly incapable of playing football. It's difficult to imagine how much more time we might have given him at the expense of Waghorn, Garner, McG, Sears or Pitman in a period where we were reasonably competent as a team.

All of Moore's Town league appearances were as a sub, usually when we were behind & all the service he got was long punts upfield for him to chase. Yes, he looked pretty hopeless doing that. but so would many players.

I think Drinan is going to do the same thing. You'd not dream of him playing in front of Bonne, Piggot, Jackson or the other one. Yet he's now becoming the Messi of League 2. I know it is a drop down, but the change from 'useless' to prolific in less than a season is more than just the quality of league in play.

We signed him from the National League in January 2017 and then immediately gave him 11 sub appearances 3 leagues above that, all but 4 of which were under 15 minutes. Not sure that quite gets you into "right to moan" territory in terms of judging a player's long term potential? Don't think people did "moan" about him anyway. He was pretty peripheral to our team that year, then went and had a very successful loan spell. Feels like more or less all you could realistically ask of a signing from a non-league club. Oh many did moan. Many also selected him in their worst ever town players team thread on this very forum at the time.

Despite the face that my favourite ever player had a disastrous debut and took a season to establish himself in the team, some fans still seem to expect every player to step up instantly and judge them accordingly. I saw someone comment on Clements' fitness level after Saturday; well of course he's going to feel the effects of playing against a good third division side for the first time compared to what he's been useful. Moore has done better than anyone here might have expected but the criticism of him here was clearly premature - he still cant' jump for a header properly.

Who was worse than him is the question? Connor Sammon will get the nod. Aaron Drinan possibly. Maybe Moore makes the bench although I’m not sure if that’s good or bad!?

I'm not sure of the criteria here. There's undoubtedly been a lot of far worse players who have featured for our first team, players who never had much of a professional career after making the odd appearance for us. Stuart Niven made 2 appearances for us then disappeared into total obscurity. He'd never make a "worst Town players ever" list because no-one can remember if those 2 appearances were good, bad or indifferent! Is Moore's case much different? Think you've got to specify at least a minimum number of starts.

You have a point, but I don't think we should let Mark Fish or Zeki Fryers off that easily. And poor Jamie Pullen, who by all accounts is a nice guy and it pains me to bring him up, but the evidence displayed in his match v Grimsby at FPR suggests he didn't have all of the attributes required of a professional goalkeeper.

Further to that, we signed him from Forest Green Rovers after they'd shipped him out on loan to Torquay for the first half of the season. I seem to remember that when he came back from his loan at Rotherham he made it clear he wanted to leave.
