Rotherham was as flat as pancake as very few honestly thought we would get anything from the game ( would have been for the players to have least tried)
Today, v a team bottom of the league, the crowd never really got going and the atmosphere at PR is poor again.
Goals apart, that was a poor performance against a side we could / should have put to the sword
I can’t remember the last time a crowd booed a winning team off

I felt it was a relief we held on for the win, Crewe could and should have scored, but also we really should have scored as well, but strangely it did not feel like a win just that we avoided the draw or defeat. I have to say, I’ve been behind cook more than most up until now - despite the obvious concerns. I believe in giving managers time and practicing patience to allow them to impose their style of football in full before making judgement. Of course these last few games are a concern.
Something cook said today rubbed me up the wrong way entirely though:
“The fans need to realise we don’t have a Devine right to win football matches, if they think that then they aren’t aligned with what footballs about”
Ipswich fans of all fans understand that. What we do expect though is for a team with the highest budget in the league to outplay a Crewe side that had all their best players pinched in the summer. We expect to be higher than 11th at this point. We expect to see some progression after 20 games, not to be told it’s a ‘new’ side again. The town support has been nothing short of phenomenal to this point, not sure he was right to be questioning that today. | |

I never expected it would be easy to get promotion and I didn't expect opponents to roll over and let us play our "superior" football. I also didn't expect to see our players outworked on and off the ball. But that's what happens. Cook's not motivating the players and the players don't show any self motivation either. | | | |

What we are about is buying into the hype. The talk of god having mercy on the league one. Of being told how the new recruitment department would deliver up excellent players/prospects.
