I would not be against that maybe from the bench in a couple of games but i think its been decided that he needs to sign a new deal before he gets his chance .
Piggott on 17:41 - Apr 12 with 2630 views | RobTheMonk | I think he needs a fresh start. He hampers our play and has done nothing in games to warrant a start let alone a sub apperence.

Odd decision if that is the case. Nothing to lose now and we might as well play him to try and convince him to stay. Would be a wasted opportunity if we didn't. [Post edited 12 Apr 2022 17:54]

Indeed. Pigott is contracted to Town for the next 2 seasons, presumably on high wages. He's the only striker under contract for next season, he's going to be hard to shift if we don't play him. As this season is virtually over, we might as well start him in the remaining games.

Piggott on 18:41 - Apr 12 with 2515 views | Dubtractor | Nah, he's offered close to nothing for us over the course of a season, and under 2 different managers who have both used him very little. Get whatever we can for him and both parties can move on.

I think Mark Ashton more or less said as much recently unless i am remembering it wrong . Odd situation regards our strikers . Until recently Jackson was the butt of the jokes on here many posters constantly slagging him off , Bonne as well has gone from hero to zero being written off . Now Piggott who has never got a run of games is useless many are telling us . Arron Drinan was out of the door last season and now has a better record in League 2 than Simpson . Suppose we are going to have to trust the judgement of Kieran and his team of coaches .

Reacting in the short term leaves a lot of us with egg on our face. Pigott was a leading goalscorer in a stumbling team . Meanwhile, most who offered any opinion had little good to say of Donacien, Drinan and Wilson while advocating such as Dobra on even less evidence than Pigott has provided so far.

Piggott on 20:08 - Apr 12 with 2362 views | jayessess | Not sure what we'd learn about him that we didn't in his last 20 appearances, really. The games against Rotherham and Wigan are a chance to set down a marker, especially after the last 2 disappointing results. We'll pick whatever McKenna sees as our best team.

Donacian and Jackson much the same was said about them .
Piggott on 09:42 - Apr 13 with 2139 views | clive_baker | Don't see any harm in that. I feel like we know more about Norwood and Bonne and have seen enough of both to make a decision on their future. With Pigott he's been in and out and never had a run in the side. He's started 4 times under KM, 3 home wins and 3 cleans sheets and the 1-1 away draw at Oxford, and he was off by the time they scored their goal. I'm not saying he's the key to our clean sheets of course, but while he hasn't set the world alight and has looked off the pace I do think it's hard when you're in and out at the business end of the season. The bloke hasn't started consecutive games for us since August, and that was a 1 off. It's hard to get in your stride like that.

There are definitely players who get written off and come back, but ... Jackson and Donacien weren't deliberately given a run of games to build up some form though, were they? In both cases they impressed the manager in training, got an opportunity and then played well enough to justify continued selection. That, realistically, is Pigott's way back into consideration.

Indeed. There’s a player in Pigott. But something’s not quite right – he always seems to hesitate and take one touch to many when collecting the ball for instance. But hopefully that’s a confidence issue simply made worse by his very stop/start involvement. I’d give him a clean slate. Hopefully we will use the end of the season positively and give game time to Pigott, Simpson, Humphreys, El Miz and any other players who we’ll want to contribute next season.

It might be hard, but it is still a requirement. If you're a top striker coming back from injury you might get a couple of games to get yourself going. When you've been fully fit all season and have no credit in the bank? You have to hit the ground running.

Piggott on 11:38 - Apr 13 with 1901 views | Garv | I wouldn't offer him much game time. Norwood is the only thing close to a striker in form and despite there being no chance of play offs we should be playing a strong XI, not an experimental one, especially against the big sides. But I do think there's a way back for him. He's been terrible and has had chances, make no mistake. But with a summer to put this season behind him, and a pre-season, he could come back. For me he just needs to get fitter and sharper, he's so cumbersome in how gets about the pitch. If he works on that he's got a chance.

Sounds like a bit of a kiss of death. For the next one, please consider a town player from years gone by, maybe? Or a local politician? Or a norwich player?
