We did 'an Ipswich' at least 3 times long before Leicester got in with their tribute act! Old division 1 title Eufa Cup 5th in Premiership the season following promotion All as so called 'minnows'

Emma Raducanu on 17:39 - Jun 29 with 2965 views | Stu_boy | Sometimes the stars allign for you where everything goes well. Sometimes that can give a false impression of your true ability. Im not being critical but perhaps that's what happened. Equally, the true sign of ability is to keep reaching the top consistently like a nadal or a williams. Think she's good but not great but as i say she's better than i am so i have no right to be critical. What i would say is to get an mbe was perhaps too much, and should be reserved for those that have achieved something successfully consistently
Emma Raducanu on 17:45 - Jun 29 with 2926 views | jas0999 | Not a fluke. She was incredible during the US open and thoroughly deserved her win. Sadly, it looks like a one off and it happens in sport.
Emma Raducanu on 17:46 - Jun 29 with 2901 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | I was at her QF match at Flushing Meadows last year and she was hitting the ball a lot better than recently. Looks very late on her backhand and out of sorts. It did align to a certain extent with the absences in the field but she was seeing the ball better than this year, no doubt about that. She’s gone through a lot of coaches and endorsements since last August/September. I mean I don’t blame her on the money side of things but hopefully she can get a bit stronger and get back in the New York groove. Which is incidentally a very underrated tune. Emma Raducanu on 18:04 - Jun 29 with 2766 views | FrimleyBlue | Saw a tweet the other day saying she's going through an injury spell which most late teens go through when they break into tennis. The more grand slams played the more minor injuries you get through the first few years. No idea if that was something made up or not.

Emma Raducanu on 18:53 - Jun 29 with 2638 views | Chrisd | She's a young girl that has had huge changes in her tennis career over the last 12 months both on and off the court. You can see that she's a talented player, but suddenly she is the hunted and has huge expectations on her shoulders for every game, that's big pressure. I still believe she'll be a top player, but it's going to take her a little time to adjust.

No they don't. Show me one other player who has won a tournament without dropping a set, beating high seeds along the way by fluke. [Post edited 29 Jun 2022 18:57]

This is what I think too. She needs a year without the spotlight brought by The BBC et al and needs to re-hire the coach she got rid of immediately after winning the US Open. She had too many people in her ear immediately after that win and as you say, the pressure has done her.
