Welcome back Bonne (n/t) on 10:40 - Aug 26 with 3571 views | geg1992 | If it were to be true, that would be a huge disappointment. I don't think we'd sign him anyway, not on a permanent. Nowhere near good enough for the championship so wouldn't really suit us if we're looking forward as such.

Welcome back Bonne (n/t) on 10:41 - Aug 26 with 3546 views | Guthrum | I wouldn't object, if McKenna thinks he has a way for him to work in our current setup. Bonne at least has some proven goalscoring ability and strong connections with the club. Also a good character and guaranteed a warm welcome from the fans.

Welcome back Bonne (n/t) on 10:44 - Aug 26 with 3474 views | WeirdFishes | I said pre-transfer window I'd take him as part of a group of strikers but can't help but feeling at this stage it's a bit underwhelming. Saying that I have absolutely no idea who else we could go for as Hirst looks a bit beyond our reach especially if Brereton Diaz is off to Everton.

After having worked with Bonne for 6 months, if (and it’s a big if) McKenna is interested then he probably knows how to use Bonne better and how he might work within our new higher attack. Also how much the off-field issues might have affected him last season. I agree he doesn’t set the pulse racing. But whatever happens I would like us to have a bit more strength in depth up front, so rather Bonne than no new player.

This is my view. I actually think he’s a decent player for this level and assuming he’s on a free and his wages are not ridiculous, why not? It really depends if there is somebody better available out there. The offside thing is nuts. He and the coaching staff ought to be able to train that out of him, surely.

I doubt he'd be free, QPR paid £2m for him and he was rumoured to be on decent wages. They'll want to recoup at least some of that.

The more we're pressing forward as a group and pushing the opposition back into their own area, the less chance there is of our front-man being offside.

I'd have thought it would be another loan.

Welcome back Bonne (n/t) on 11:00 - Aug 26 with 3136 views | EddyJ | Our best striker last year. Even when he wasn't scoring, he held up the ball well and won a lot in the air. If he could stay on side, he'd be a real asset. Happy to have him back, if true.

Yes, a poor second half to the season but there are some mitigating circumstances. Nothing is certain, but surely McKenna and Co could harness some of what we saw at the start of last year. Perhaps the more lukewarm responses to this post indicates that some are still hoping for Hirst or similar. We could do a lot worse than Mr Bonne.

You can't always get what you want But if you try sometime you'll find You get what you need In short, at least we have a plan B for a change (if this is true).
