Very weird to throw Super Mick’s name there when we have had 3 worse managers at the helm since. We are very good now, surely it’s time you stop fixating?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I wouldn't worry about it., he has the most accurate username on here.

No need to hate on Mick. No need.
We as fans need to remember how enjoyable this Ipswich is, this style of play, the pleasure it gives us, the joy and excitement of Portman Road on night like that
From a manager who wants to play the game right
And NEVER EVER get a manager in who doesn’t follow the values we demand
Even if it is to to just shore up the ship
As my buddy said tonight - we never leave Portman Road feeling disappointed in how Town have played these days
ABSOLUTE need and I’ll tell you why on 23:02 - Oct 4 by unstableblue

He was holding the decaying club together on a budget of 50 quid a week. But you hate if you want to.

It is what we want and i'd warrant 90% of fans became a fan watching us play that way. Many folks on here said we'd be best off going down to League One to rebuild and rejuvenate. Not me, but here we are, and we have rebuilt, we are rejuvenated, and we march forwards with the right style.

Why, considering the position we're in after an excellent result, do you think it's a good idea to take pot shots at our best manager since Magilton, and the only manager to get us into the top six of a division post Royle?
Mick stabilised the club but the financial situation meant he didn't have the chance to take us further. He should be thanked for what he did here, not sneered at at random intervals just because some people can't move on?
Seeing what we are now, compared to what we were until the Americans came in, it felt like an absolute fantasy, and selfish unrealistic dream, that we were allowed to have a team/club we currently have.
The only word that does it justice for me is Proud. I’m proud to support us again, and I haven’t had that since the BFJ playoff years. The rest has been a disaster of a life following this club.

I believe in this manager completely
Ipswich is a footballing town.. we demand quality, we demand energy, we demand passing, we demand entertainment
This ownership, this project, this manger, and really importantly this group of players are what this Town and club has needed since perhaps you’re right BFJ… perhaps even Burley
I can’t believe people are even questioning the premise of my post
No more managers who don’t meet our DNA ever again, ever

I started following town under burley, so he is my ITFC DNA, some of the utter sht we’ve watched since him has been soul destroying, and I can’t believe I didn’t pack it all in (well I actually did with a few games left under one manager, then he left)

Bang on. This is the best time (albeit in the lower league) since Joe Royle era.

Your post doesn't make any sense you complete loon.
We all believe in McKenna, it's weird you're trying to have the monopoly on that.
What you really seem to mean is you've only just noticed what most of already knew.

I understand the sentiment of the OP.
Mick was the point in which I nearly gave up. And judging by our attendances in the championship at the time, about 15,000 others did too.
The fact that we’ve had worse managers since just gets brushed under the carpet as we were already in the depression.
But I think we are all United in the fact that the good days are back and don’t need reminding of this through threads like this.
I’m as happy as a pig in sh!t right now!
Thank you for that post, you have it
You’ve exactly got the sentiment of my post. I left Portman Road exhilarated last night, because it was a style and football ethos that is ITFC, not a negativity and ugly style, where lesser away clubs came and played better football for two seasons.
I too almost left, and many 1000s did, and I am rabid blue.
The other managers are an irrelevance, in some ways they wanted to play a more entertaining brand, they just weren’t good enough, or in Lamberts case uninterested.
As you say let’s unite around this manager and this brand of entertainment, he’s still done nothing yet, except make us all want to go to PR with a passion
And as I stated never allow us to get a manager who doesn’t share our values again. The Cardiff fans will agree entirely and en masse. They suffered the anti-football as well.

This issue with your posts and this thread in general is that you think you have some hot take (“REAL town fans should like us playing good football”).
Well, duh. Of course we all do.
It is an entirely obvious, pointless observation, wrapped-up with trying to look important and wise.
It’s like saying “REAL humans should want a comfy mattress”, written solely to have a pop at a manger who was here years ago, who saved us from relegation, got many of us back in love with ITFC again - despite what people choose to remember, I arranged the collection and donation to him and the card - I have the literal receipts -, got us to the play-offs, lost his way, became belligerent and had to go.
It’s just stupid and antagonistic on a night where we should all be buzzing about 2022 Ipswich.
