Not ideal. But as a great man once said, better to be the hunter rather than the hunted.

Is it panic to see what some have seen for a while now. That we had a chance to break free from the group but didn't take it and now any non win puts us on the back foot.

They're clearly a good side and they aren't going away

The best thing that can happen is they lose some of their loanees, which seems a possibility

Mumba from Nodge in particular and perhaps Whittaker

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

"better to be the hunter rather than the hunted" is rubbish. It is the excuse for the ones that have fallen behind.

However, you don't have to be faster than the lion chasing you. You only have to be faster than your friend running away with you.

Ultimately, we need to pick up enough points to finish top two. Whether that is with Plymouth, Wednesday or someone else is irrelevant. We do need to get the points we need, though.

Makes you laugh doesn't, I'm sure some Town fans think the season ends in 2 weeks.

Apparently Man City fans are planning a big protest given they're 5 points behind Arsenal and that means they won't win the league.

On the subject of daylight at the top

Weren't we 6 clear of Wigan in that nearly season, then Kuqi got injured and we were soon caught by Sunderland and Wigan, then missing out in third

Weve lost 1 league game since October 15th, yeas we could have had some space between us and the other sides but we haven’t so let’s just focus on us, we are doing fine. Could be better, yes, could be a damn sight worse.

Just chill out, whenever we don’t win you are making out we are in far bigger trouble than we are.

It doesn't put us on the back foot. We'll remain on the front foot. This is just how a football season works. We will have good weeks and bad weeks. We just have to have fractionally more good ones then Plymouth. That's achievable.

No issue with the OP really. It's true. We could also remain 4 points behind with a game in hand. We just concentrate on us.

Don't think that's the case. I share quite a few positive thoughts after the game last night and agreed that if we win at Lincoln then it's a good week.

However many of you have been quite keen to point out how close we are to top. And how far away from those below we are.. but those draws have hurt us whether you want to accept it or not that's fine. But they have.

Again as said a while back. If we get promoted. Nothing else matters. But if we don't.. this past 10 game period has cost us. Its just unfortunate the opportunity to breakaway was there and we didn't take it.

Remember you don't need to lose games to end up missing out on promotion. Not sure why you and others seem keen to ignore that motion. Yes we've only lost 3 league games. But we could lost 5 won more and be better off than we are.

Better way to put it is that we’ve had an extraordinary run of injuries and a fairly tough run of games but emerge from it still in the top two. Now we are beautifully set imo. Let’s see how that plays out. Guess it just depends how you’re wired.

I still think they’ll drop off

Anyway, don’t care if they’re 20 points clear, we need to pull away from third, let them win the league, I’ll take second now.

We are 2nd, averaging over 2 points per game, if 2 other teams better that then so be it.

You said we are on the back foot, we aren’t it’s you over analysing every result and if we don’t win it’s the end of the world.

I don’t care if we are out of the top 2 for the rest of the season if we sneak in late doors then it’s job done.

Their next 8 games include Us, Bolton, derby, Sheff Weds and Portsmouth - four of those are away. I wonder where they will be after those.

I'd say drawing 40% of your last 10 games is being on the backfoot personally.
We've now got a points gap to top
Joint 2nd
Less points to 4th then previous weeks etc too.

So yes I think it's fair to say things haven't gone as well as we'd hoped for.

But again and something we both agree on. As long as get promoted who cares. But I'd personally like to see us consolidating that top 2 place.

Whilst true. Most of those were seen by fans as backups before they got injured. Apart from Evans of course.

'most fans', not you obviously cos you is cleverer than that, probably dont appreciate that is a squad game and the effect over a few games of not being able to the substitutions you would like as those 'back up players are able to come on
