Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb 08:51 - Apr 11 with 2951 views | Asa | All things considered it was a pretty flat atmosphere for the 90 minutes. A lot of that will be down to nerves. But seems to be the case at places like Bristol Rovers, Accrington, Cambridge or Cheltenham. At bigger grounds / stands such as Port Vale, Derby, Bolton, MK Dons the atmosphere has been so much better. That's not because of bigger or smaller followings. It just seems to be harder for fans to get up for it in the surroundings that we are desperate to get out of this league to avoid. Saying that, there were some massive overreactions online to conceding and drawing. There was a lot of anger in the stands as well that we'd conceded in the manner we did, with the referee, with the below par performance (which I don't doubt was because of the conditions). Generally people were dejected, angry, frustrated. So fair play that the players received a huge round of applause, McKenna's name was chanted, Town are going up etc. It could have easily been met with a few idiots booing or people trudging out, but pretty much everyone stayed behind to clap the players and get completely behind the side. Some of the players - Chaplin and Burns in particular looked wary of coming over and looked genuinely choked up when the fans started singing instead of giving them stick. That certainly won't have done any harm - especially when you see how quickly Wednesday fans turned on their team and even Plymouth fans to a degree yesterday after just a second home loss all season. Tiny pitch, swirling wind, patched up turf - there was so little opportunity for Morsy and Luongo to get the ball down and pull strings in midfield.

Very much. I said it on another thread but when that ball was played forward I would have happily put money on it that Wolf and the Cheltenham player got nowhere near it and Walton claimed it in the 6 yard box. Out of nowhere it seemed to hold up on the edge of the box instead, so it looks a horrific mistake from Walton, not helped by Wolf heading in the worst place possible (not that he could see or take the chance of letting the ball drop to hoof it away) but that goal was completely down to a ridiculous bit of wind deceiving everyone involved. All three players that contested it had no idea where it was eventually going to land and it was just a freak goal to concede really. Not sure how it looked on iFollow, whether the wind was obvious or it looked like neither team could pass, but the far corner flag by the Cheltenham drummer was at a 45 degree angle for pretty much the entire match it was that windy. That has to be next on KMcK's todo list, dealing with 'conditions'. We were undone by difficult conditions at Oxford and again, to an extent, this time. Mckenna is a good manager and already has a history of identifying issues and dealing with them, so I have every confidence that he will do the same for issues with handling tricky conditions.

Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 09:03 - Apr 11 with 2759 views | Swansea_Blue | It was very flat after about 15-20 mins. That was more down to there being little to cheer than nerves. It was fine before the game and then the game killed us off. A good rally at the end, agreed. But the sooner we can put that behind us and get to the next game the better.

Wind Tunnel and Smoke Machine added to Ashton's list of Playford Road upgrade. Could have training officiated by a near blind, former local Sunday League refs as well who make up rules that don't exist about adverse weather just to keep us on our toes, just for that League One feel.
Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 09:07 - Apr 11 with 2690 views | Scuzzer | It did seem that it was a very small pitch, narrow at least. This could be an explanation to why Davis and Clarke were not as effective down the wings...a bit congested. Burns didn't find the range on crossing either. Still think the wind was instrumental on the Walton cock-up.

Quite! A mean what more do fans want having just set a number of club records. Winning 15 games in a row just doesn't happen so we were inevitably going to drop points at some stage. Away to Cheltenham is not the worst result ever and whilst not at our best it's not like we were terrible and on many other days would have won that game Had we turned on the team or showed dissatisfaction to the team because of a draw after winning 8 in a row think i would have given up on football.

Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 10:02 - Apr 11 with 2445 views | homer_123 | I said yesterday, it's not nerves. It was more to do with the fact that a degree of credit is due to Chelts. Small pitch, they harried and hustled, closed the space down and made it difficult to play, plus the pitch wasn't conducive to good football and the wind didn't help. I really don't believe the players looked nervous at all...maybe the fans were....but the performance didn't show any kind of nerves at all IMHO.

Yes, first half when we were playing in to the wind, Cheltenham really pushed their back line up. You could hear their goalkeeper shouting at the back line to do it. It was so difficult for us to play passes over the top or through the line as the wind would catch the ball, or players would try and adjust for it but the wind then not blow at all and the ball would sail out of play. Even passes on the deck, you could see the ball moving around. We still created chances which we should have taken.
Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 10:12 - Apr 11 with 2352 views | Darth_Koont | Good to hear. Yes, they need support after yesterday. Defensive mix-up aside as well as not being as clinical in front of goal as we’d like to be, it was a good performance. And if the weather was a leveller then we were still a lot better than Cheltenham. Collectively, the players and fans need to stick together and keep putting in the performances – that’s the surest route to where we need to get over the next 6 games.

Cheltenham concede very few and draw a lot of matches. A win would have been a very good result but we take a point and it is still in our own hands.

Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 11:02 - Apr 11 with 2074 views | Dyland | The overreactions on here were predictable and from the usual suspects (see what did there, honk honk). Thankfully it's a small minority. On the "usual suspects" comment... trolling surely, and one for admin to look at. In case that poster is reading, and just in case you actually genuinely don't understand, the "usual suspects" having just kept nine clean sheets including some impressive performances. So a nonsensical, ridiculous and self sabotaging comment. Add the hyperbolic squeaking about Burns and others, and it's pretty pathetic stuff. I was so gutted at the manner we conceded. However, clearly Walton misjudged the ball cos of the gusting wind. Sh1t happens, even to the best keepers. And how typical the ball fell to May ffs. But hey, we've had some luck the last few games as well, so meh. Town are an existential fillip/threat for me. Almost as much as the sun/lack of it. Chance to get back on track Saturday. Not that we've been derailed. You know what I mean.

but deffo didn't have our shooting boots on. Some of the reactions were off the scale ridiculous. Notwithstanding how deflating and gutting it was to finally concede (in such a sh1te fashion).

The players should be able to adjust to windy conditions. Normally the old adage of "keep it on the deck" and "dont let it bounce" are the best way ;although Town do that already.
Reaction of the fans at full time yesterday was superb on 11:59 - Apr 11 with 1858 views | Cheltenham_Blue | Some of the anger in the stands was weird. I had two lads behind me one of which constantly alternated between, "He's never going to fking head that is he?", and, "Why is Hirst fking all the way up there?" throughout the first half. Then in the second, he alternated between, "Do something with it then!" whenever Jackson got the ball and, "He is the laziest player we have ever had" whenever talking about 17 goal Ladapo. Odd.

Something like that. There was a lot of panicked chatter whenever Walton played out from the back too, there may also have been some hyperventilating.

This includes the manager and the players, it’s for exactly what happened at Cheltenham, there is no time for deconstructing each performance. We are in a straight shootout, we need wins, we will likely give teams more chances than he’s been the case recently because we need to commit numbers forwards when searching not only for a goals but a win. All eyes, all focus is on Charlton. Everything else is a distraction.

I don't know how iFollow mix the audio but the singing was pretty constant throughout with the occasional quieter patch. With a fairly shallow stand and fans split round the corner there were often different songs started at different times but overall from where I was stood near the goal the atmosphere was pretty good.

Dunno what version of ifollow you listened to Town support was good, commentator also explained right at the beginning commentary was coming from a glass enclosed box so would not pick up crowd noise as normal
