Definitely worth a read again on 20:38 - May 2 with 2954 views | Churchman | I see they’re up to page 66 and I even get a mention by name on page 64 by the fixated, swivel eyed weird that kept repeating the same old ‘warnings’ on here. Don’t think he likes me. I’ll try and live with the disappointment. I know that as a tinpot club they’re at the high watermark of their potential, but 66 pages on a former employee and a football club that has no connection with them is plain odd.

That's exactly what I told a Bristol City fan last week. He kept going on about how much he'd spent and how Pearson had needed to turn it all around. No recognition of all the work he led to get them on an even keel in the first place.

It’s not just that. They seem annoyed that they had to sell players to balance the books. Er, yes. That’s how most clubs below the elite have to operate. Haven’t they had any decent players before where teams have come in with large bids? It’s almost inevitable that you can’t keep top players and most clubs need the revenue. Gamechanger have had deep pockets so far, but they’ll certainly consider large bids. Plus there’s the need to fund ground developments. Talk to us about having to sell players to fund ground improvements why don’t you. We’ve only been doing that since 1981 lol.

MA appointed Pearson, of course.

So it was you then Churchy! Good post - respectful to them, positive about us. Just don’t let your wife see it!

Definitely worth a read again on 21:37 - May 2 with 2484 views | Vegtablue | I'm not sure how old you need to be to remember better times at Bristol City! They were very L1 in my mind when they got their promotion in the 00s. Since then barring a brief blip they've been stable Champ material. I get that he may have sold them a dream and it never materialised, but that kind of obsession calls for the footballing equivalent of a Bristolian Chernobyl. Instead the chairs were moved about a bit and order seemingly restored within one transfer window.

They refer to falling foul of FFP and having points deductions as a result. I can't recall or find any reference to it happening to Bristol City relating to the period 2016-21.

No, I don’t post on other clubs’ forums but I have to it say it was rather good to whoever did. If it’d been me and I found Mrs C in bed with Ashton, I’d want the money up front 😃.

Definitely worth a read again on 22:21 - May 2 with 2193 views | Pendejo | The Charlton footage very interesting, I don't think I'd seen that before. I was aware that some sh1t went down, and being at the game we are the performance was shocking, many of those players are still playing for us aren't they? 18 months ago, seems like a lifetime.

Definitely worth a read again on 22:35 - May 2 with 2142 views | Pique | Another weird argument that pops up in that thread is this idea that 'half of Ashton's signings at Ipswich are out on loan now'. Eh? I make it four 'Ashton signings' that were out on loan this season - Harper, Pigott, Ahadme and Penney. Leaving aside the question of how far they were down to Ashton as opposed to Cook and McKenna, that's four signings that haven't quite worked out. Absolutely dwarfed by the list of signings that have been successes: Walton, Chaplin, Morsy, Burgess, Clarke, Broadhead, Luongo, Evans, Davis, Burns, Aluko, Ladapo, Leigh, Edwards etc etc etc. Harper and Ahadme were development punts that haven't quite worked out. Penney was a freebie Cook signing that I still don't think was as bad as some say, but clearly we've moved on to better. And Pigott...yes, he was a disappointing misfire amid all the successful signings. But that happens. Four signings that didn't quite work out? Is that it? Is that their argument? Very strange.
