Surprised no one has mentioned price of shirts this season... 10:23 - Jul 5 with 4746 viewsitfcjoe

...gone up from £49 to £55 - fair old jump.

Comparison to other Umbro teams who presumably have the same costs/deal

Bournemouth - £65
Burnley - Not Released
Brentford - £60
Derby - Not released
Huddersfield - £50
Ipswich - £55
Luton - Not released yet
West Ham - Not released yet

Funny how such a range for the same shirts, and obviously set by the clubs - guess ours will be in that £60 range soon, but has gone up so much in recent years - was less than £40 when we first went to Adidas

Without wishing to be too cynical, I suppose the price jump allows for the Darby Rimmer donation without really affecting the club's bottom line.

At least we're (not yet, at least!) in the same ballpark as the top PL teams, charging £80+ for a basic replica shirt.

To be fair everything costs more now than it did a year ago. I suspect it can be explained by inflation.

£4 really. With £2 being a donation to a great cause.

Not that bad.

Also. People will need to get used to things being more expensive with ffp meaning we need all the income we can get.

Yes, that's a good point.

Hopefully staff across the club (well, those not earning a four-figure sum every week, at least) will have seen a similar 10% increase in their wages as well.

12%, so not too far ahead of inflation. It is a lot for a football shirt though.

I think the kids kits are expensive as well, £42 for the infant one which feels punchy. They don't include the socks this year either which they did previously.

I’d suspect (not wanting to sound like a hunt) that the business of the football club would unfortunately be wanting to avoid that!

£55 for a football top is insane 😂😂
Weirdly both my kids have said they don’t want it, they want a training top instead, which I’m guessing will still be £40!

I hadn't realised that about the socks.

Although admittedly my boy never wore his ones this season as they never fitted him properly anyway!

This is why I get a retro shirt.

I've got the the old Fisons one with the laces which is my go to if I want to wear colours. Get way more life out of it by having a retro one.

Those PL prices are mad, I used to try and get myself a shirt, or kids shirts when we went on holiday but now up in that €75 range as a minimum even when went to places like Poland.

We go to Paris in August, I have been on DH Gate and got them PSG shirts for £12 each - will save them going mad when they see an Mbappe or Neymar shirt there as I'll have "one I made earlier"....!

Yeah a shame about the socks - my 4 year old can get shirt and shorts for £42, then socks £10 on top of that - for my 6 year old it's now £69 for a full kit with socks (plus £12 for printing and I've already been told who they want!)

I feel your pain brother. Kids are expensive haha.

The printing is bit of a hidden cost. Of course they then want Burns 7 on the back and you're looking at another 25% on top.

To be fair I don't think mine has worn his socks more than about once or twice either as he doesn't seem to like them. Getting the 3 items does make you feel like you're getting better value somewhat though.

And the printing is pretty reasonable really at that cost compared to elsewhere

Is it per name, or per letter? If the latter, at least Burns wouldn't be as expensive as Woolfenden.

I think that's fine, there is clearly loads of people around with money as evidenced with the number of shirt sales, so a bit extra not an issue, and brings in more money for the club*

* hopefully the workers making the shirts, wherever that is (China?) also received an increase.

It’s also crazy that we all know for a fact they’ll be massively reduced, probably half price, in just 12 months time.
