If we don't get rid of Evans then he'll have a couple of good matches early on which will lead people to massively overrate his performances for the rest of the season. See last year.
I can't see either of those two having a massive impact next year really although not being so dominant in possession might allow Ball to help close out matches like he did during the run in. [Post edited 18 Jul 2023 16:48]

He’s a year older and much, much wiser. And I think there’ll be space for more midfielders like him in the system this year. But his all-round game and technical ability may even fit better in the Championship.

Ball. Evans played a fair bit last season and really well. Bizarre how many consider him surplus. Evans is a really good player.
Ball on the other hand hardly played. He's a very good operator. I don't expect him to come in and rip it up but he might surprise a few. I still wonder if he he might play a few games at CB. He'd be decent against less direct/big forwards. Can play out from the back. He's played there a fair bit. | |
