Why all this worry? 15:14 - Jul 26 with 2799 views | hype313 | Is it me or does it all seem a bit over the top? I'm looking forward to the new season, glad that were finally out of that god awful league and can sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. I'm sure McKenna and Ashton will sort out any issues that may arise, they both have enough credit in the bank. Think people need to calm down and chill out, look forward to the new campaign. What will be will be.

It's not really the moaning if I'm honest, there seems to be this panic around a few current players and lack of incomings. We have a decent squad, with momentum, When Sheff Utd had consecutive promotions, and I hate to say it, but also Norwich, they did it will 90% of the same squad. I'm just quite relaxed and looking forward to the new season.

Agree. We look a striker and a CB short but that's it really. We can comfortably go a few league games with what we have if necessary.

Why all this worry? on 15:43 - Jul 26 with 2627 views | Rozz | Is there much actual worry? I don't think I've seen many people going OTT or suggesting we'll struggle. I'm a little less optimistic than thinking about back to back promotions, although I agree it could be possible with some good recruitment and a slice of luck with injuries. My head says upper-midtable and consolidation this season. My only worry about that is losing our manager before we see him realise his full potential with us, but what will be will be.

Isn't that what those posters you mention are talking a out. A couple of additions light. I've not seen much moaning on here or across other social media platforms. Just a desire to see a couple of other new faces in.

Essentially that. There's a couple of very vocal fannies whining and most of the rest of us patiently awaiting the opportunity to get ragged for attending proper games rather than getting ragged for not attending pre season games.

I’m very relaxed and really looking forward to it. We have a proper team, well coached and supported. The club is settled, organised and growing. We also have momentum and players who are more than good enough for Championship football. Yes the usual vocal suspects will come out with the usual stuff and if god forbid we lose a few games it won’t be long before ‘McKenna out’, ‘not experienced enough’ etc breaks out on here. But mercifully they’re a small minority. It feels a bit like going into the unknown but we really aren’t. The Championship hasn’t changed but fortunately our club has. It’ll take us a bit of time to adjust but I think we will do just fine. In fact, I’ve a feeling we might do a little better than just fine for the reasons in the first paragraph.

Why all this worry? on 07:26 - Jul 27 with 1917 views | WonTheCupin78 | Don't really understand where all the worry is coming from. Most fans would be perfectly happy with a mid-table finish which means expectations aren't that high. Are some fans worried we will be relegated? I see little chance of that. Are some fans worried about playing Nodge twice this season? They shouldn't be worried, gives us (finally) an opportunity to right their record against us.
Why all this worry? on 08:21 - Jul 27 with 1853 views | BondiBlue | Because imagine how absolutely soul-crushingly depressing it would be if it turns out ashton's a fraud, mckenna's rubbish and we end up back in league one. We just need to get a couple of games into the season, a couple of wins and decent performances and i'll stop freaking out.

Why all this worry? on 08:21 - Jul 27 with 1853 views | Coastalblue | Considering there were people who were calling for McKenna to go during the course of last season I think that tells you how much notice you need to take of some posters.

Not the only one though am i? And is it not ok to say on TWTD 'hey guys i'm excited but nervous about the season' without immediately being told that i'm a melt or a baby?

Oh sorry, I must have misread your posts. It's just it looked a lot like you said something along the lines of "what if Ashton is a fraud, McKenna is rubbish and we end up back in League 1" or words to that effect rather than "I'm excited but nervous about the new season". One of those is a reasonable position, the other is a grown man publicly wetting himself.

Well that's the nervous bit. I'm pretty happy i'm not going into this expecting us to smash everyone to be honest.

Why all this worry? on 08:51 - Jul 27 with 1755 views | RobTheMonk | The blame lies on what came before. We're so used to squad summer overhauls and an aging squad that people are still cautious. 6-loan Lambert and The Demolition Man made the summer transfer windows, probably more interesting, but not really indicative to a settled team. We have a relatively settled squad of which most are at a decent age. The majority performed exceptionally well in the last third of last season. The recruitment in January was exceptional. We play positive, front foot football. It's entertaining and so far beyond what we had been playing. I can't remember what season it was, but I stopped watching games towards the end of the season as the football was awful to watch. The catalyst was Alan Judge refusing to pass the ball forwards at any time. Let's go in to next week with that positive mindset and winning mentality that we had in the final third of last season.
