Evans would have got zero minutes here and is at an age where he will want to be playing and getting himself fit for next season and beyond. Aluko is coming to the end of his career and is in more of a coach/liaison role now. It's not like we sacrificed a player we really wanted to keep in order for Aluko to stay registered and it's not likely Aluko will play again either. |  |

In an ideal situation, I would have probably kept Evans over Ball. Given the circumstances, I can see why it was Evans that went. Aluko will continue to be important behind the scenes and he won't be in the squad next season. | |
