Pinched this thread idea from Owls Talk. Apologies in advance if it isn’t entertaining &/or interesting. My own personal example dates back to April 1987, top of Div 2 clash vs Derby. I was 15 but could get served in the Falcon. Probably only had a handful of pints but was out of it by kick off. Spend the bulk of the first half in the North Stand toilets throwing up, thus missing the chance to see arguably the worst ever penalty at FPR :

Can’t remember drunk, but most hungover I’ve been was Charlton away when Hunt scored the winner in the 95th minute, could barely raise an arm to celebrate.
Had arranged to meet a mate in Winchester in the morning but stupidly left my phone at home during which time, he had to change plans and meet in Southampton teatime.
I had no choice but to remain in the original meeting place and basically spent six hours chucking pints down my throat because, well, what else could I do?
Eventually gave up and headed to Southampton and went to the Yates as that was usually the designated away pub, and he was in there, confirming that he had been texting and calling all day.
Topped up on the alcohol and remember sod all of the game but remain amazed I was allowed in the ground.
Wembley 2000 came pretty close too but Hignett's goal snapped me out of it.
Helsingborg away. Lost my new flip phone when stewy scored and mates had to pull me off the pitch. Funniest part of the trip was a swede giving a load of Ipswich fans some lip from his car, then pulling up outside a shop and leaving his car open. Imagine his shock to come out of the shop to see his car slowly rolling down the hill.

Not so much at a football match itself but there was a time where I would watch town on the radio. Too much sausages and sugar might have been to blame (rather than the drink). I would just sit back and listen to the game and imagine it in my mind.
Of course, by half time I was so far gone I started thinking Bennetts and Norwood were world beater and that Gwion's free kick circumvented the globe and landed in the net for our 2025 Champion's League final against Cole Skuse's Bury.
Sunderland away in 1992. Midweek game. Went to stay with a mate at Durham uni. we spent the day drinking and then got the bus to Sunderland. Asked a local lad for directions, he wanted a pint first so we joined him for a couple before sharing a taxi to the ground. We lost 3-0 and Town weren't the only thing that was battered. We'd arranged to meet up with the same lad after the game but spotting a guy in a red and white striped shirt as Roker Park emptied was a challenge - even if we'd been sober. We made our way back into town and were heading for the bus station when an arm came out of a pub window, tapped me on the shoulder and we were invited into a pub that was absolutely packed with Mackems. More drink was consumed and we caught the last bus back. Amazed I remember so much of it TBH.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Same match. When I got the ferry from Helsingor to Helsinbourgs one of the locals told me to get some takeouts on the ferry as much cheaper than in Sweden.
Followed his advice and basically drank a crate of beer before later hitting the local pubs inc Harry's Bar.
Had to be dragged to go to the match as I was convinced I was on for 3 some with 2 lovely Swedish ladies I'd been chatting too.
Fell asleep at half time - so doubt I'd've been up to much in the highly unlikely chance I had really struck gold.

Helsingborg. Me and my mate put on blond wigs and dragged it up.

Wolves away probably about 20 years ago now, got nicked for being drunk and disorderly in a football stadium for throwing up, spent night in cells sobering up until midnight when they let me go, had to find hotel then train back to Ipswich next day, also had the pleasure of going to back to watch Wolverhampton magistrates a couple of weeks later for them to fine me, haven’t had a beer at football since - it’s not worth it kids!😅

Very heavy night in London the night before!
Everton away in 2000 - we won 3-0
We made a weekend of it, and I was smashed after starting the drinking in a pub that was open at 10am. I was barely sober from the train journey up and pub crawl on the Friday.
It was a brilliant weekend and the result and the performance were the icing on the cake.

Alcohol should be reserved for an EggNog at Christmas and a small sherry for major birthdays. Can't understand anyone drinking when you should be watching football.

Let me educate you - Luke Hyam, Cole Skuse and Jonathan Douglas in a midfield three.
If that’s not reason enough to get off your face at the football then I don’t know what is. Especially with Mick as manager.
