I can only remember Geoff Capes ever being any good and that was 40-50 years ago.
We've got more than our fair share of fatties around, so I just don't get why we are so crap at it. |  |

But it's not fatties though is it.
It's a cultural thing and you just need to look at the athletes that compete now. They are so gigantic (height, size, muscle mass) that we just simply don't have that really. I mean the dude in 3rd has a neck which must be like 40 inches!
Granted we have a couple of strongman who are units but we just don't have facilities (like schools or training facilities) to create athletes of that nature. Plus, the fact we don't do throwing in PE at all. It's all middle distance, cross country bs. |  | | |
