Hopefully a gentlemen's agreement in place tonight i.e "if I score you let me bloody go to Ipswich"

Might push his price up even more but it also might make him push harder for the move and make the club realize he's earned his chance at the PL.

You sense it's almost inevitable that it'll get done, just much later in the window which is not ideal.

Don't think a gentleman's agreement means much to Blackburn and usually protacted deals don't get done so not overly optimistic on this one. I felt we had some real momentum coming off the back of last season and followed up with some good signings but the last month's relative inactivity protected deals and injuries feel that momentum may have been lost.Hope we get an injection soon.

Didn't something similar happen with Ward-Prowse last season? I remember him running the game at Sheffield Wednesday on the Friday night.

Hamer scored last night. I would love to see us get him as well as Szmodics.

I doubt very much SS is coming to Town now!

Why is it just about every player we go after is such a protracted circus ending in us not getting the player?

Stoke strangely enough manager to get the striker we wanted, and a deal was struck with in a couple of weeks. No fuss. No overly extortionate fee.

Saints appears to be able to sign players without any undue hassle. They’re another newly promoted club too.

Why aren’t we able to sign the players we are targeting?

Because you only focus on Ipswich and not other teams saga as think they have gone through smoothly when they haven’t

Wasn't it more the fact blackburn in jan were in real danger of going down. If they'd sold sg then and had dropped while he helped us get up they'd have had some difficult questions to reflect upon.

If we'd have wanted him this summer i think a deal could have been done but clearly we'd moved on having gone up

Disagree with almost everything you've said there.

I very much doubt there's any kind of agreement along the lines of if I score you let me to go Ipswich.
I don't think one goal will push the price up (that would be ridiculous... but then this is Blackburn!)
I don't think he can push harder for the move than he already has.
The club aren't going to realize he's earned his chance on the strength of one goal.
I don't get the sense it's almost inevitable that it'll get done.

I agree that much later in the window is not ideal though!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Think he has the option of putting in a transfer request. That would mean him losing a loyalty fee which Blackburn wouldn’t have to pay that might be the difference.

As we really don't know we can't jump to conclusions as to why this transfer has dragged on. It is totally boring and frustrating. If has been alluded to that Blackburn have indeed stated a price then reneged on it the authorities should step in. There definitely needs to be something done that if two sides cannot come to a solution then a board of professionals of the game come together and state a price based on age, experience in a particular league and as with forwards an average of goals scored and passes made setting up goals over say five years. You cannot as with Szmodics take one season of 30 ish goals. You only have to look at a few Town players over the years to see that in the main forwards, with exceptions like Kane and Shearer,or a Jimmy Greaves don't have season after season of being 20 goals plus.

Yeah it was, although they kept moving the goalposts on us just like they seem to be doing this summer. They sold Gallagher to Stoke for less than we were offering in January.

If Blackburn are looking to sell why risk him getting injured by playing him? One goal/assist doesn't really affect the price. I'd suggest he was only on bench due to lack of fitness or wanting a move rather than being sold.

Later in the window or January or the summer for half the price

Moreover, the players we have signed got done without all that much hassle (I don't get the impression the Greaves side of the deal was ever very much in doubt).

Lol, takes one to know one as they say. I'll let you have that one. I'm just fed up with whole situation really. I'm not so surd it will get done. Are you expecting BB to suddenly take what the offer they said they would (after declining it when we offered what theyd indicated theyd accept?). They keep moving the goal posts. What they want is another club to vone in so they can push for their valuation of £20m.

Ultimately, can we afford to wait any longer for them to stop pissing around?
