How funny that Walcott has taken the time to credit former club Southampton for their good work in their loss to Man City, but nobody wants to credit Ipswich for their 'never say die' attitude, near draw, and the fact that Delap has a better than 1 in 2 record in his first 9 games.

Shearer has always been a b(w)anker. But football is a results business. He will be comparing Ipswich with Burnley,
Sheff U and Luton from last season. B and L had won a game after 9 games (if I remember correctly) SU had to wait until game 10. All three went down with little resistance. Whether we like it or not, our results, performances are similar to those 3.
Speaking with Brentwood fans after the game in the pub many made the same comments about us. Lots of determination, lots of running, some nice passages of play, but like B, L & SU last season lacking enough quality PL players to survive. As they also said, the PL has changed dramatically even in the few seasons they've been in it, all teams have moved up a level. They certainly wouldn't fancy their chances if they had been promoted this season, they also hoped we survive, but non of the ones I spoke with thought we would.
I'm still convinced we will, just.
