Back of west stand going up stairwell. Does anyone know about this? The chap on the door said you had to have a wristband to enter.

Worst thing the club has ever put us J Block West Standers through this.

Stewards are on an ego trip and looking to appease the $$$ spenders and apparently "under FA rules, swearing isn't allowed in premier league grounds" - copyright one of them on Saturday after one of the little lovelies complained about one of the proles on the back row whilst ignoring some mouthy Spurs supporting woman who was happy to give it the big one all game.

My "Fill this on a Tuesday night at home to Stoke next season" parting shot must've cut them deep.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Interesting and that’s rubbish. We’ve been pretty good at keeping away fans out this year overall but obviously fail with this new bar?

Kinda predicted this would happen - particularly with the London clubs BUT this was the first time we'd had this issue all season so far.

I did corporate at Newcastle and there's a disclaimer on the table that asks away fans to be respectful of home fans and not overly celebrate goals. I'm assuming we've the same but a bottomless brunch does things to people...

Is it because it's hospitality, where there's more of an attitude of "if you want to pay silly money to watch some football in a comfy seat, we don't care who you are".

Never done the prawn sandwiches thing, not sure I ever will. Think it generally appeals to a different breed.

However, I think we are heading towards clubs dedicating more and more facilities to it. The talk of ending season tickets seems like a slow burner rather than a conspiracy theory. Certainly at the top end of the game.

I suspect as clubs get more successful a move away from traditional fans and income is more inevitable. I don’t blame the club for what is a small move, but I guess they are hoping to be a yo-yo club that stays up eventually. I do think though it’s weird that fans are segregated and treated like enemy armies but all bets are off in corporate.

Perhaps challenging someone who has paid more is seen as less appealing?

It was always going to be a flashpoint there when you have ruffians like The Bluefunksters in the mix.

Certainly seemed that way on Saturday - the other end of the exec area had a couple of town fans who were just as sweary and animated but nothing was said to them.

We had a previous fallout with the stewards & the Stand Manager prior to the boxes being opened up - we've always stood on the back row. We weren't blocking anyone's view as there was nobody behind us but the game before it all opened up, one of the stewards came up the stairs and simply barked "SIT DOWN" to us all. He got a 2 word reply from all but with the promise that we would sit down the following game once the Stand Manager got involved. This has been adhered to.

I appreciate that it's the decent thing not to stand in front of a box, but it's home fans being seen as easy targets again, isn't it?

There's seemingly no effort made to make away fans in front of the Cobbold boxes sit down and, if I remember correctly, they're subsequently sold as budget boxes owing to the restricted view.

Seemed that way - if you take the 6 of us who all go together, there's over 180yrs of season ticket holding between us.

Not sure if this accounts for feck all in the grand scheme of things but when you take in the Div 3 days, the Covid times etc, we've seen it all and come back for more - not just paid a one-off £175 for a big game..

All the club has to do is put the seats (that are in front of the new exec boxes) about a foot higher up and there's no problem.

Fans have been happily standing for years at the back of the block without any issues at all.

Inept planning, officious and confrontational stewarding - but hey, some prawn sandwich munching w*nkers can't see from their seats (they could just stand up) and dislike some of the language being used...

I’ve refrained from commenting to this point, as I’m still angry about the whole episode, we’ve been in those seats 22 years, and yes passion can get the better of us, but obviously £175 a seat makes them worth more than us.

BTW thanks for the generous support from all around for BF jnr.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but the idea of doing the prawn sandwiches thing at a football match is absolutely abhorrent to me - likek what do the religious folk call it? Sacrilege. - I would infinitely rather be back in the nineties behind a cage fence in the North Stand drenched in piss again.

Hope BF Jnr hasn't taken it all to heart and that he's there for the next game.

There was a further chat with one of the head stewards way after the final whistle who did say that he understood the points being raised and that he promised to feedback to the club.

Whether this goes anywhere further, who knows.

See you in a couple of weeks.

The hospitality has got so expensive now, myself and my old man have STs in the Bobby Robson Suite - what we pay pro rata'd per game is genuinely more expensive than my wife and 2 boys season tickets a few rows in front of us (early bird renewal prices - not sure how it compares to full prices)

But the reality is even the likes of us, paying that sort of money, they don't want in there any more - I know it's tiny violin time, but over the last decade, there are probably around 30-40 of us who have been there the whole time, and there is no respect given to that, we are treated worse than the one off table buyers who they are desperate to speak to and accomodate [who won't be back if we go down].....I've spoken to Rosie in the lounge more times than the guy that replaced her 3 years ago who has never even spoken to us in person or over the phone despite having had season tickets in there since 2013/14....

Thanks ABB, I exited quickly because I couldn’t trust myself not to get involved in a row, which wouldn’t have served any purpose.

You’re on your own with the water sports, but I’m broadly the same I think. I’ve never spoken to someone who’s done it and they’ve made it sound appealing. Maybe if Snr is still going in his 80s or something I’d take him in there perhaps.

I’ve got little problem with people who do it either though. But if you’re not a town fan and acting the cock it smacks a little bit the club don’t treat you like the rest of us would be.

This is the issue - I'm not really sure what I want and don't expect my continuing attendance, season ticket & club membership & club shop purchases to provide me with some form of elevated status at ITFC but the schmoozing for corporate $$$ goes against the grain in my old fashioned view of football.

Saturday was as depressing as it was predictable.

I sat in one of the new ones behind the middle tier for the Leicester game, when they scored at the end I went apoplectic, a bloke in front of me thought I was a Leicester fan celebrating so i then bore the brunt of presumably them being p155ed off in having regular away fans behind them.....which escalated things massively between both of us.

Once things were clarified we shook hands and had a decent chat at the end of the game - but can see why it's far from ideal.

We've had a lot more in SBR Suite this season, generally most are respectful and just get on with it - but the odd one is a **** and it causes massive issues, especially there when you are in the same seats really as everyone else
