Maybe they've just done that to lower the expectations of their fans so that they've already got that sense of disappointment before they kick off. |  |

They are doing a test run with a full crowd a bit later, so we shall see.
But my experience of this season is that very few of the Premier League grounds are easy to get away from. when you factor in things like queues for public transport.
By contrast, at Portman Road, I can be on a London bound train at 5.10. |  | | |

My Everton connection reports that the train experience to & from was woeful and hopes for improvements as it couldn't cope with 10k supporters.

It's a 40 minute walk (1.9 miles) from Lime Street, so that would probably be the best route for away fans on the way back. Or, if not that, a shuttle bus to the centre. [Post edited 18 Feb 13:03]

I thought it was just outside of Liverpool proper in/close to Bootle but it is within City limits. It is actually as close to if not closer to the suburb of Everton than Goodison Park is. Anfield is much closer to Everton than either. |  | | |

Agreed, looks very generic inside the ground. Tottenham's stadium is new but the cockerel is iconic and instantly recognisable, whereas Everton's ground could probably be for any blue top tier team in Europe - could do with something visible from within that makes it their own |  | | |

Looks OK but worth losing World Heritage Status for? But then most of Liverpool's historic waterfront buildings were funded by slavery anyway so that status was dubious to begin with. [Post edited 18 Feb 15:32]
