My next door neighbours told me a couple of days ago that Rachel Reeves is going to take away the state pension from people like him who have a private pension.
His social media feed must tap into all sorts of right wing fake news sites, and it was very disturbing during Covid to hear what sort of nonsense he believed.
Apart from this, I get on with him well but for my sanity I do feel it is best to stay off politics. [Post edited 4 Mar 20:34]

I was worried that posting this would open up another Brexit $hitfight on here. But it genuinely blew my mind that they singularly voted for Brexit because the footpaths in Malta were so much better than when they hurt themself previously. Generally they are pro-European but they felt it should have been up to the Maltese government to pay to improve their own footpaths.
They do regret their vote now and said the classic 'It was more of a protest vote, I didn't really think the vote would go in favour of leaving'. (An almost equally mental thing to say) | | | |
