Fernandez has been brilliant, but he does kick Foden on the floor! 16:55 - Sep 13 with 1806 viewsunstableblue

Foden shouldn’t lash out

But there’s a reason he did

Surely they should both be sent off.

Without being pedantic, Fernandez plays for city. Fernandes plays for Man Utd....

Agreed. Obvious kick

I actually think Foden was just using his legs to propel himself up.

He has not been brilliant either. Lots of Hollywood passes, some of which have come off and some of which haven’t. He also nearly gave away a goal.

Yes it was tongue un cheek....gone over you're head Mr Mullet.

However, the point still stands, it's a totally different player.

I don't buy that. I can understand him reacting to being kicked in the back.

The only positive is no booking means Fernandes can be punished post game. But I bet he won't be.

I liked G. Neville'ss comment just now that Foden will be thinking if he'd known he was going to get a red card for that he'll be wishing he'd kicked Fernandes a fair bit harder than that!

If Foden was smarter would have made more of the original foul and not overreacted with the kick out.

Yeah, it's what Fernandes would have done. Roll over about ten times until he reached the corner flag.

Minimum yellow for Fernandez… probably red.

No question Foden kicks him in stomach with both feet.

Good to see a so called big club having a player rightly sent off.

One of the most overrated players in the Prem (Fernandes of United that is). That’s a hill I’m prepared to die on.

My view is that a yellow card for both would have been a reasonable way to deal with it. I can see the argument for a red for each but neither offence was that bad really. It was a little kick from Fernandes and Foden's reaction didn't make any contact and could be seen as simply trying to get back to his feet.

Stupid from Foden to react really though.

Looks clearly red for each to me.

Foden's is clearly red. Its a deliberate kick in the torso. The assault which preceded it is also a red. Foul for the step on the boot, but then a petulant hoof with no intent to get the ball.

Talking of Hollywood, Fernandes (the Utd player) needs to stick to his day job given the level of his acting ‘skills’ when getting the brush from Foden’s boot to his poor delicate little tummy.

If Fodens is a red they should both have gone, not sure how VAR can’t think the kick to Foden was any less of a deliberate kick.

The sensible way was a yellow each but of course..

The officials had a shocker in this one, ref got in the way of the ball 3 times, and occasionally felt in the way of the players
The red card and non red was poor, did Bruno even get booked ?
Then the goal, how can Fernandez not impact from offside with that ??

The only Muff in Town.
