Where is our Union Jack? 10:42 - Mar 10 with 26215 views | Paddy39 | As an ex Army vetran of 25yrs service and a season ticket holder, why have the club stopped flying the Union Jack? I have in my service served with many other nationalities who enlisted into The Royal Hampshire Regt where I served 1972 - 1997 so where is the Flag. Are there many other vets out there who feel the same way as I do. I wear my medals with pride and if you are worrying about insulting other nationalities who by the way many have served in our armed forces anyway what do you think you are doing to your own servicemen/woman. I haven't seen the Flag fly for a month now but I hope I will see it in the near future.

Where is our Union Jack? on 12:58 - Mar 10 by tcblue | Hold on, so someone was complaining about political correctness gone mad, when in fact it wasn't true? Yet had already constructed the narrative of bogeymen who had been offended and demanded the removal of the flag? Well, I am shocked. |
But he's a hero..... | |

Where is our Union Jack? on 12:05 - Mar 10 by Darth_Koont | Hmmm. Personally I think our club (both players and fans) goes beyond the UK and certainly any concepts of nation. It's pretty clearly a UK club through geography anyway. |
Our club barely goes beyond the county these days, we're not Man City.

Where is our Union Jack? on 15:56 - Mar 10 with 4493 views | gordon | Just heard from an insider at the club that it was used to clean the back of the Sir Bobby Robson with a bit of Mister Muscle. Cost-cutting measure. Can anyone confirm it's looking a bit cleaner up there today?

Where is our Union Jack? on 14:01 - Mar 10 by Lord_Lucan | Have to say I think it would be good to see our flag flying on prominent buildings, it's a cracking flag after all, and I disagree with the racist bit to a degree because the flag was hijacked by The NF in the 60's and 70's. As for the veteran thing I think you are being a bit offensive. I am amazed how much flak current and ex servicemen and women get. It's not an easy job they do and they will be protecting your arse if the sh1t hit the fan. [Post edited 10 Mar 2018 14:05]

It would be if Newcy had his way, he could captain it and we'd all be happy Can of spinach?

Actually, the Admiralty released a circular in about 1902 saying either term could be used correctly at sea and ashore. I have never raised the Union Jack on a British Ship. I have only ever flown the Red Ensign, I have one in a cupboard at home. I’ve got a few flags.

Where is our Union Jack? on 11:24 - Mar 10 by Darth_Koont | Because it's not all that relevant to our club. I'd rather they flew the club flag. |
They do fly the club flag. And the Marcus Evans flag. And until a few weeks ago flew the UK flag too. Today I didn't look, ironic really since my line of sight watching that game was very much skywards. [Post edited 10 Mar 2018 17:28]

No. We fly the country flag on the stern. Other flags we fly from the monkey island.

Where is our Union Jack? on 14:00 - Mar 10 by SpruceMoose | Some simple minded folk just love to get outraged. It's like a fetish for them. They are the kind of people that look forward to the Oscar ceremony all year just so they can get into a spittle flecked rant about Hollywood elites and lovies. Sad really. Always worried about other people have, and what other people do, rather than just enjoying their own lives. These people also seem to be the ones professing the most pride in their country too, whereas the reality is that these people are the kind that the country is most ashamed of. |
Says the one who spends his entire life patrolling this site for political correctness. You see the irony right?

Anything on the roof would interefere with Mick's tactics, so I'd understand if they took it down.

Where is our Union Jack? on 13:33 - Mar 10 by Benters2 | This thread wont go down well with the libtards on here. Sadly they see the flag as a racist symbol, yet you want to march down PR with a ISIS flag, yeah go for it brother, its your right you wave that flag. To think 100 years ago this year was the end of the first World war, people were fighting for that flag,it should be flown everywhere,we should be proud to see it. Sad times. |
