Just started, a bit early so I missed the beginning. Talking about Mick and giving youngsters a chance at the moment, along similar lines to YouTube interview.

No designs on job long term.

Well, you do seem the first one to jump to their defence on every thread.

You know, you go through spells of being almost sensible. What I find odd is that you don't seem to be able to acknowledge that we have some utter morons as our fans, who behave appallingly towards the manager, certain players and even other (apparently fellow) fans.

That doesn't mean you are a moron fan, that all our fans are morons, that even all fans who wanted Mick to go are morons - but there are some morons, who go well beyond the pale.

As for your "I wasn't at Brentford" evidence - we have Klug saying McCarthy needed to be escorted to the coach and at least one other poster (who isn't one of the "happy clappers" as some seem to be labelled) who independently heard that certain "fans" had hung around to abuse players and manager. You have no evidence that either of these accounts are made up of lies, but choose to assume they are because a couple of your mates sent you videos of their own that there was nothing went on.

Great. That's really helpful.

I absolutely hate a large majority of our support, that’s both ends of the spectrum though, I listen to some of our ‘hardcore’ and cringe, then I listen to the ‘happy clappers’ and want to punch myself in the face.

But we aren’t alone, that is every club that’s ever exsisted ever. We aren’t the worse for it by a long way, the vocal few just stick out more here because we are ‘quiet little ipswich’

I stick up for them at times just purely because everyone on here gets so offended by very little, just the way of the world I guess.

Btw, not to be a pain but Klug also wasn’t at the game, he will have been told The previous manager was walked to coach for safety, just as I was told (and saw on video) that nobody was close by to be a real threat at all.

I wouldn’t have done it personally, I’ve managed to sit next to MM in a restaurant without even considering so much as a football convo, and spoke with him 1 on 1 when I was hanging flags up at the training ground pre Norwich. Neither the time or place, but what would be the time or place? It wasn’t his fault he had many failings as a manager, just like you and I aren’t perfect in our jobs. But a change was needed and thankfully it’s come

Spokesman? Brilliant stuff.
To clarify as you seem confused, I was anti the previous manager, for a while, the most ‘toxic’ I became in those 24 months was a boo at FT vs Hull and posts on this messageboard. That is it.

I wasn’t at Brentford, knew how it would be on and off the pitch and had mates in London for a bday, so went for that option. Spoken with a few Town fans later on train Home, and I’ve seen 2/3 videos of after the game vs Brentford, not a single player or staff were in any danger, a few words were shouted (wrongly, but again, hardly the end of the world)

If there’s anything else you’d like to know please ask.

That's a more reasonable post. But that doesn't come across in any other of your postings. And to be fair your failings are nothing in comparison to the poster Wadey Blue. He came across on Tuesday night as a poorly educated amoeba.

No, that was really as the papers used to want everything held back for the morning for their print edition and everyone went along with it so there was a level playing field. However, they changed their policy so they stick everything out online as soon as now.

The most alarming thing is that the atmosphere has had an adverse effect on academy recruitment. Congratulations to the proud "numbskulls"!!!

If that’s how you interpret it. What if what’s actually happened is parents have been turned off the club for other reasons? Perceived youth opportunity, first team style of play, budgies have a better local offer etc?

Text I received Saturday after the game, group of people waited by the coach to give the players some sh^t.

Yes all made up.
Just like there were no idiots in the stand at Brentford with anti MM chants for about 80 of the 90 minutes.

I do not know what happened outside the ground after the game but I do know what happened inside during the game.

We are currently blessed with a following that bring shame and embarrassment to ITFC and in some cases bring shame and embarrassment to the human race.
ITFC would be a hell of a lot better without them.

Sorry, no.

Those idiots will always be idiots to me and if I decide to stop going to games home and away it will purely be because of them.

There will be a decent following at Forest but I think the idiots may well still continue to be idiots, glorying in their own stupidity.

Thanks. Respect for this response.

I must admit, I have more respect for the "happy clappers" than the "numbskulls", I suppose because I would always tend to have respect for someone doing their job to the best of their ability - which I think MM did right to the end, whatever I think of the way he set his team up or his approach to football matches.

The other reason (in this context) is that I also tend to find second guessing a manager a bit daft, given there will always be things we don't know.

For instance, I wasn't close enough to Cotter to see whether he looked utterly shattered or not the other not. Just as I wasn't close enough to Iorfa to see whether he was injured during the Norwich match. Iorfa was also never going to gesture to me that he was feeling any pain. I wasn't in the changing room to hear whether he already felt a strain. As a result, (in my humble opinion) booing a substitution is just something I would never do and i don't understand those who do.

Given how careful Klug has been in all his press utterances already - in the video iview with him yesterday on ITFC.co.uk and in the transcribed notes from Phil today, I also can't for the life of my understand why he would make something like that up.

Anyway, enough of that. Thanks again for your reasonable post. It is appreciated.

Now you've done it, this will confuse certain posters no end, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story. On one hand we have a small minority of idiots who are happy to throw personal abuse at a Town manager and on the other hand we have another small minority of the righteous, who believe that when Mick sits on the toilet he sh1ts gold nuggets. There are a lot of great posters on here, but there are some real tedious ones who sprout the same comments again and again on every thread.

Why would Klug make it up?

Surely, he'd be likely to just not mention it? Especially if he thought it risked causing more issues and wanted an easy ride?

I don't think he would make it up, but I do wonder if the police were concerned because of the problems in the ground, so insisted on an escort to the bus. Whether there were still idiots hanging around so long after the match, I am not so sure. It could have been a precautionary act.

I don't really get your point. Surely if the police felt that, that's evidence enough something was wrong?

This was also where we had people calling Mick a paedophile, had he heard that I'd be amazed if that wasn't enough for him to jack it in. As tired as it might sound "we" are better than that.

Those idiots have treated Mick in a way you wouldn't even treat Norwich. Which is probably the worst of it. Jewell and Keane didn't get all this, and for what? Because he's got us back to midtable without even threatening to take us down?

He's still a bloke, and whatever your view he doesn't deserve this cowardly extremes he's had. No one in football does.

Did I say that I agreed with the idiots? I said earlier that it was out of order to shout abuse at a Town manager, no matter who it was.
I never understand the booing at football matches, whether it is for players returning for the opposition, or even worse, booing our own players, or manager. I agree %100 that MM didn't deserve the abuse. I also know that you are never going to reason with me if I say anything that is not positive about Mick, so I am not getting involved in a never ending discussion.

If being disgusted by the behaviour of those people is being righteous then yes, I am righteous.
Away from a football ground a few of them might actually be decent sensible people but the evidence from last Saturday would put that in doubt.

I will continue to tediously post my disdain for those idiots on any appropriate thread-might even start a few threads myself to do it as well.

If this isn’t your point, I’m not sure what your point is.

In your first comment on this thread, you say “don’t let the facts get in the way of a good story”, implying that this story isn’t all is made up to be. You then say you don’t mean that Klug is lying. And you suggest that perhaps it wasn’t that there was a genuine threat to MM, but that the behaviour of our fans merely led the police to believe there might be.

The simple question is - is it really much better if the police feared for our managers safety, rather than there actually being a baying mob waiting for him?

To be honest, neither of those scenarios make me feel proud of our fans. But maybe that’s just me.
