Academy and club more cohesive, Marcus will appoint manager who is best for him but that will come into it. Academy lost its way a bit at one point but is more on track and linked to first team now. | | | |

I remember reading about John Gruden the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the time and he said to his players on his first day in the job - 'When you come through those gates for training, you're bringing the juice. On a related note, Gruden got a $10m deal over 10 years with the Raiders this off-season, but everything he's done since arriving smacks of a bloke who's trying to manage like it's still the 90s. | |

That was the early 00s. Gruden certainly had a lot of confidence in himself back then Unbelievable, he might have mellowed with age now? Nevertheless, the sentiment is still right and applies to all walks of life. [Post edited 12 Apr 2018 12:59]

That's my thinking, simply re-enforces all the comms coming from the Club in terms of things not being a change in strategy and approach to funding. Any new incumbent will be working with the same resources as Mick. | |
