"lone" striker.

Indeed. Would rely on his pace rather than hold up ability.

And Pennington at left back!

Knudsen dropped to the bench. Unexpected.

Right Back, Donacian can play left back.

Why no place for young Edun. Think he has done OK when used. Didn't he play left back on a few occasions for Fulham last season

Can Donacien play at left back? Would have preferred to see Jackson play ahead of Ward. Ok line up otherwise.

I’m not sure which is best suited to the quotation marks - “lone” or “striker”!

Good to see him cetral though. PH atill experimenting...

Interesting.

Given who played well on Tuesday I think that line-up looks about right doesn't it? Perhaps not drop Knudsen?

Totally agree on Edun, looks quality so not sure why he is not being used more.

Edun the one player, young as he is, that can get it on the floor and pick a pass. I know Andre can do that too so it depends if you are in the "manage Andre carefully" camp or the one that says "he has to play to save PH/CD bacon".

Chalobah HAS to play higher up the pitch today and let Skuse do what he's done well this season and break up the play. Come on Freddie, BIG game for him today.

So no tactical changes, just chop and change the lineup and hope sh1t sticks.

I'm not convinced about changing half the outfield players when we still look disjointed. Sears did okay but all his good work was outside the box. The midfield has no goal threat. Replacing Knudsen with someone who isn't even a left back is an odd one. I'm not convinced he knows what he's doing.

Yes because I remember the appreciation when he made a tactical change against Brentford.

Probably due to his complete lack of experience. Think he only appeared a couple of times for Fulham (from the bench). Considering our current position and situation, I’m not sure it’s good for him.

Agree. 4-1-4-1 looks better to me. Width from Edwards/Ward and both Dozzell, but perhaps more so Chalobah getting up to support Fred. Don't need two defensive midfielders, and the back four must push up 5 yards or so to close the midfield space down (they have the pace), and Skuse can do the mopping up.

I can see the logic. Swansea are not physical- this is a game for footballers not big lumps and hoofers (thinking about Dozzell mainly here).

So, I make that no left footed players in the side at all today. That's a wholly sensible decision when trying to play in a 'football' manner.

We're really not far off Keane Event Horizon, the point at which a manger thinks that playing 4 centre halves and 4 CMs is a good idea, now.
