Was it ALB who was so nervous one match he was throwing up on the side of the pitch?

It seemed like he was a very ordinary keeper who did the basics well, played out of his skin as if every match was a cup final for him and the defence seemed to be more conscious of the need to protect him. It seemed that worked better than the more talented keepers.

I presume everyone's got March 14th marked in the calendar by the way, in the spirit of this thread...

Yep that was the one and only:

Niklas Gudmundsson

If I recall correctly we didn’t need to equalise, we needed to win as shef Utd had two away goals.
[Post edited 17 Apr 2019 7:24]

Yes, I still remember Sedgley's free kick and that bloody post!

If I remember correctly Sheff Utd scored early on, Scowie equalised before half time. Gudmundsson put us ahead towards the end of the 2nd half, only for the scummers of the north to equalise. Sedgley's free kick was almost the last kick of extra time.

That was the last game that Gudmundsson played for us. He was on loan - from Blackburn, I think. A decent player who chipped in with some important goals for us towards the end of the season. In fact, I think he scored to put us in front, he was then substituted shortly afterwards before touching the ball again and his goal (a header) was his last touch for us.

Frazer Richardson is a good one

No one has yet mentioned Jonathan Hunt, Sean Friars, John Kennedy or Patrick Kisnorbo - presumably as they’ve forgotten them

I also suspect people like Ben Pringle will be on these types of list in a few years, although probably a bit recent for now

Actually you could probably do about 7 teams of forgettable loan players given how many we’ve had in recent years. Reece Wabara anyone?

I bet if you did a "random" Town XI it'd be bloody awful.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

Axeldahl is normally well represented in these sorts of threads, relative to contribution. See also, Karic and Abidallah.

The Macedonian Steven Gerrard seems to be falling down the pecking orders a bit though.

Anyway, Paul Mason is the one for me, the player Alan Judge wishes he could've been.

Paul Mason was quality, good call.

Neil Midgeley.
Lee Durrant.

Edit. Just seen Durrant has already been mentioned.

I remember seeing Neil Midgley's one and only goal v WBA at the Churchman's End. A looping header. A game which saw WBA have two men sent off and it should have been more.

As for players:

Gerry Creaney
Marco Holster
Danny Higginbotham

Sean Friars scored a great free kick at St Albans in the summer of 1999. Right in the postage stamp. His only league game for Town was as a sub against Crewe in the promotion season, 2-1 win.

Either that or you look through a thread and see who has not been mentioned, have a think and remember someone who you had not thought of for a long time, wonder why, mull it over and realise that they did not make as much impression as, say, John Wark so decide to add their name to a, generally, lighthearted bit of passing the time in a lighthearted way.

And wait for a light headed response.
