Hunt's personal view is that the time for abortions should be reduced. Trying to spin it that he wants to introduce laws to that affect isn't really true. He has said if a backbencher brings the bill forward (they obviously will) it will be a free vote so it has no chance of going through.
To answer your question Sitters, for me it's Hunt. The best of a pretty poor selection.
All meaningless anyway. Boris is your new PM.
This Jeremy Hunt?
Our Suffolk MPs aren’t exactly coming up with good reasons for him
"The best example of dynamism is what Jeremy Hunt did with the junior doctors"
"You think his best example is the junior doctors strike?"

It's their home. Nobody should be compelled to move.
I disagree. No 75yo single woman or man, or indeed a person of any age but specifically in this case people of that age, needs a 3+ bedroom house.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Honestly, what is the point of the Tory party these days? They seems stuffed full of nutters and utter morons.

Genuine question - what does that phrase mean, in simple terms? I didn't see the other thread, feel free to link your previous explanation.
I think Guthers summed it up very well earlier
Vote Rory Stewart.... by Guthrum12 Jun 2019 9:44 Historically, a lot of them had a genuine desire for social and economic improvement. People like Alec Douglas-Home and Harold Macmillan had been junior MPs suring the Great Depression, had seen the poverty among their constituents and felt a very great urgency to never go back there.
The modern welfare state was planned and designed on Churchill's watch in the early 1940s. No Conservative government in the '50s, '60s or '70s tried to dismantle it. They didn't deregulate or denationalise. Consensus was the order of the day.

I would be happy to watch a Hunger Games Tory Party Special, in which all the candidates are taken to a remote island and fight to the death.
Last person standing is the new leader of the Conservatives.
As viewers we should be able to select weather changes, weapons and food rations etc.
That film really gets my goat. How can you just rip-off a brilliant film like Battle Royale and call it a really rubbish name like that? The Simpsons had it right...

Ken Clarke is a typical one nation tory.
Today I set out my vision for sensible, pragmatic, One Nation Conservatism. We must deliver Brexit by Oct 31st, restore faith in our democracy, and support the wealth creators that fund our vital public services. Together, we will succeed > https://t.co/tGRXu94CmTpic.twitter.com/x9HfKOP0Qu

Is Boris a One Nationer too? He doesn't have much in common with Rory Stewart does he?
Anything is true if you say it in this day and age.

He claims to be. And once upon a time he may well have been. But he is only interested in power for power's sake and I don't think he stands for or believes in anything anymore.
Who's up for ranking the ten who are standing in order of preference*?
1. Rory Stewart 2. Sajid Javid 3. Michael Gove 4. Jeremy Hunt 5. Andrea Leadsom 6. Matt Hancock 7.Boris Johnson 8. Dominic Raab 9. Esther McVey 10. Mark Harper (never heard of him)

Loathsome Leadsome would be well down the list for me. She’s been truly appalling around Brexit, both deceitful and dumb (I know they’re not unique characteristics).

Stewart is probably closest to the type of Conservative I like - moderate, consensus, educated (as in actual knowlege, experience and understanding of the world), not pandering to self-centered libertarians.
However, his UK political experience at senior level is more limited than many of the others and his competence has not been tested that much (on the other hand, neither is he a proven incomptent yet, like some).
Hancock seems vaguely ok, some of what Leadsom is saying is possibly not so bad. Johnson, Raab and Javid just come across as distasteful, not least because of their approach to tax bribery.

I started but it's a tall order, GB! You start saying 'anyone but' but then you end up mentioning all of them... Hmm.
Ken Clarke should just be forced to do it.

She's simply a very low calibre politician. Sadly the last three years have revealed that the overwhelming majority of M.P.'s in all parties are of little merit. The only two in that list that would give me any hope are Raab and Boris. Despite his astonishing gaffe about Dover I like Raab and think him one of the best in parliament. I wouldn't put anything past Boris, he could win an election on a pro-BREXIT ticket then back Remain; but he's probably going to be the next P.M. barring an even bigger stitch-up than the one that gave us feeble Mrs May.
