Sunday Mirror saying Neil Warnock is waiting in the wings should Lambert go. (n on 11:11 - Mar 1 by Bluefish | If he had an 18 month deal with no clauses and it was swapped for a 5 year deal with clauses then Evans has shown how sharp he is |
Why would Lambert over-write an eighteen month contract with protections in place for a five-year one which doesn’t?

Sunday Mirror saying Neil Warnock is waiting in the wings should Lambert go. (n on 11:28 - Mar 1 with 4163 views | ITFC_Forever | Too late. Should have been done on New Year’s Day instead of giving PRP a ludicrous and completely undeserved 5 (FIVE) year deal. The horse has bolted on this season, and if Colin is retiring at the end of this season, there’s no point in us appointing him now.

If the clause was falling outside the top 6 in league 1 for a 5 year deal he would

Sunday Mirror saying Neil Warnock is waiting in the wings should Lambert go. (n on 11:48 - Mar 1 with 4105 views | BlueyandCrazy | Surely given the 5 year contract to Lambert / long-term job, this makes no sense; 1) How would Warnock fit into a long-term approach 2) There may be break clauses in Lambert's contract but wouldn't have thought he'd sign a contract in Jan with a break clause at the end of the season, irrespective of position! Surely the Lambert contract relevant point is that a pay-off would be capped and not for the full 5 years, and/or there may be a break clause if next season we are out of contention? Even then, surely Evans would go for another longer-term option e.g. Nathan Jones. Yes, Warnock could get us up quickly, but in what state to stay in the Championship, and would he hang around?

Evans is going to prove to the world generally what a complete and utter pr1ck he is if he sacks Lambert two months after giving him a five year contract and that’s before he looks at the potential costs involved! |
The five-year contract would have been upon promotion; which looked likely when it was agreed, surely!

But we won't attract anyone else of substance without risking another PH. We need the short term approach to stabilise and become a better option. Who would want to come here? Warnock's age and situation makes him the perfect temporary repair.

However, imo, he has to arrive before end of season so he can assess the squad and not be late to the party like Hurst was.

Nigel Adkins? I still think he should be our go to guy. Of course he may not want to come here; he may rightly think he has a chance of claiming a Championship job instead.

Don't know about Adkins. A disaster st Sheffield United in this division and reminds me very much of Lambert. [Post edited 1 Mar 2020 12:15]

Wasn't there also a TV commercial where a couple of chipmunks or something were managing a football team and the big boss one kept yelling instructions to 'Colin! Colin!' and then turned to his assistant and asked why the player took no notice of him. His assistant told him that was because the player was called Bob. Cue big boss chipmunk yelling 'Bob! Bob!' to no effect. Also, surely Colin W@nker is an anagram of Neil W@rnock?

At least he recovered from the bad record (though his win percentage was over 40%) with a decent spell at Hull, though. I think any boss we go for would have a blip on their CV somewhere.

Yeah, but sh1te in this division and left Hull because he couldn't work with their budget. I see two flaws there before we consider that he is also really fcking annoying. [Post edited 1 Mar 2020 12:22]

I'd happily swop getting in the play offs this season for getting the right manager in for next season . The 1st thing is to wave goodbye to PL , it's probably too late to have much impact this season but at least it gives the new man time to assess the squad and get rid of deadwood

Sh1te with one team in this division; yes, that’s one more than Hurst and Lambert before they joined us but maybe, unlike them, he learns from his mistakes. I don’t think he could handle the tension between the fans and the owner at Hull and... that’s a third flaw isn’t it? I honestly don’t know who I’d want in if Lambert left. Warnock is short term, Jones’ inexperience was fatally exposed at Stoke, Grayson struggled at Blackpool...
