A little ironic.

You might want to leave a little longer for these sort of retorts. It might otherwise give the impression that you’ve prepared them in advance, which isn’t a great look.

It doesn’t take long to think of a few songs that express what a sad, lonely and obsessive weirdo you are.

Just put me on ignore if my posts bother you that much.

If a cartoonist drew Diane Abbott as a monkey but also included Corbyn portrayed in the same way next to her, would that change it?

Portraying a black person as a monkey is very different, but you knew that so i don't know why you asked such a daft question.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

It would be offensive to portray a Jew or a Muslim as a pig. Portraying a Hindi as a cow/bull applies equally imo.

I don't think that is a like for like comparison.

For Muslims the pig is unclean and abhorred whereas, for Hindus, the cow is revered, almost godlike.

Would it be insulting to Trump, for example, to portray him as an eagle, even if the eagle were drawn to appear sinister?

I do wonder what Priti Patel herself thinks about the about the reaction to this on the basis of her cultural heritage, given that she has previously been outspoken against being labelled BME because she sees herself as British as she was born here. I'm sure she hates the cartoon but probably not on the grounds on which it's being criticised on Twitter.

Yes, not the same thing at all.

I don’t like the cartoon though, gratuitously offensive at best.

Also poor form from those who have cropped it to remove the context.

No, in my opinion it isn't.

People could look at is as racist - but more importantly some people select certain things as being racist over other things depending on their political views.

That is the thing that is racist.

Now ain’t that the truth.

Racism as a political football is unfortunately the go to currency for some of the noisiest contributors to this place.

Well you’re certainly reading my posts so I’ll just copy the message I sent you here, which was an attempt to sort this no see out “off board”.

This constant following me about. Is it really necessary?

You’ve made it perfectly clear you don’t like the cut if my jib, which is fair enough, but it can’t be bringing you any joy in life obsessing over me the way you do.

I have avoided getting involved in any of your threads, and for a while, refrained from taking the bait, but why not just ignore me if I upset you that much. Or just say nothing at all.

I’m happy not to have any interaction with you on this board if you will reciprocate.

Or we can both act like grown ups and at least try to be civil with each other.

Either option is good for me but really I’m getting rather tired of your constant sniping from the sidelines and blatant attempts at trying to get me banned.

The ball is in your court fella.

Look, you keep banging in about me reporting you for abuse and seem to have developed a massive hard in for me ever since.

FYI I have reported you for abuse just the once. In October when I had just spent 48 hours by my youngest daughter’s bedside in a children’s ward, and for some relief from what was happening I logged in to TWTD only to see you knowingly peddling malicious and outrageous lies about my record on speaking out against antisemitism.

Had I been at home rather than suffering from sleep deprivation in a children’s ward then I’d have probably given you a downvote and treated your post with the utter contempt that it deserved.

Now please put me on ignore for your own sanity.

Is it racist? That's very grey area. Some may say yes, others no. I can see both sides of that argument.

Is it necessary? No. Not at all. It's just a cheap shot against a successful and driven woman.

Would I say the same regardless of which party? Yes I would. I'm party agnostic on this.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

It's satire. From a satirist.

It reminds me of a reply to a complaint about a similar joke in Private Eye years ago... "I bought a tractor magazine once, and fck me, there were pictures of tractors in it."

That's fairly balanced, with the exception of one thing to offset the 'successful, driven woman' bit.

She knowingly causes misery through her heartless actions and policies. There may well be no smoke without fire on these bullying accusations either.

Does that all mean it's necessary for the press to scrutinise her? Absolutely. Like this? I'm not so sure and very much open to debate (as we've seen).
