Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 09:11 - Apr 10 with 3811 views | Chondzoresk | No swallows or swifts so far. Lots of Chiffchaff and a Blackcap, however these are probably local migrants. Probably winter in France or SW England/Scilly Isles. Non migrants abound. Tawny Owl, Buzzard. Apparently Red Kites are becoming more prevalent local to me in North Suffolk. Still lots of garden birds nesting around me. Never ending supply of House Sparrows, which is great news. If I see any swallows or swifts, I will then post.
Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 09:22 - Apr 10 with 3787 views | artsbossbeard | Nothing yet, we have a returning House Martin expected soon, fingers crossed. Got a bloody starling nest in the roof this year though. Noisy beggars not only at sunrise but through the night too. Hopefully move on when the young ones fledge and I'll seal the entrance.

European migrants are more than welcome too. Swifts usually arrive first week of May but Martins and Swallows should arrive soon with this southerly weather....some are reportedly here already.

Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 10:23 - Apr 10 with 3721 views | WeWereZombies | Saw a treecreeper on one of my cherry trees last week, first time in a couple of years. But I was too lazy to creep out and up to the tree to see if it was a regular British one or a short toed European migrant.

Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 11:19 - Apr 10 with 3684 views | ElephantintheRoom | Chiffchaffs are quite common out on the dawn dog walk. Nothing much else so far in rural essex/cambs that might be construed as a migrant. Astonishing number of deer though - and quite a few bats flitting around the edge of woodland, some of them scarily large. Which reminds me...time to plant the garlic.

At least he didn't call them 'birders', who I think are like 'doggers', but with more tits.

That would be people with bird tables in their gardens, they generally have fat balls...

Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 19:22 - Apr 10 with 3518 views | Dubtractor | Nothing too exotic in the garden yet, tonnes of the usual suspects though. And after 6 years of it being up, we finally have some blue tits nesting in the camera box I bought Mrs Dub. Alas, the camera ceased working 4 years ago, but the thought was there.

Twtd twitchers.....migrant special! on 18:25 - Apr 12 with 3370 views | gordon | I'm in Perthshire, on my daily government approved cycle (I do go slightly over the allotted time) I've seen a few Ospreys at usual lochs but not many for this time of year, normally loads of activity as territories are fought over etc. One big flock of Sand Martins, probably 100s, hunting ober one of the lochs last week, but none since and no other hirundines yet. Willow Warblers first singing 2 days ago, a few Blackcap singing on the route today and a female in the garden, although the local Sparrowhawk had a run through and killed something shortly after I saw the Blackcap. Big surprise was seeing 3 Marsh Harriers (1 male and 2 females) in a smallish patch of reeds quite close to house this morning, hunting & interacting with one another. Presumably just moving around on their way back to the 3 or 4 established breeding sites in East Scotland, but would be great if they did stay and attempt to breed there. Will check again tomorrow morning.

Turtle doves have arrived in the off-piste audley end estate.... and what I take to be willow warblers.... but more practice required on youtube ot be confident about identifying warbler songs. Loads of whitethroats around now as well

This lockdown time has apparently meant there’s been loads of deepthroats around as well. I’ve not ticked any off though.
