Judging by the silly post that could have cost you your role as governor and now the revelation that strangers have managed to track you down and share photos of you online It's probably time you reviewed your security settings before things get out of hand for you.

Most Schools set out in their policy that you're to have all personal social media set to private if you are an employee/governor/etc.

Maybe it's also time to consider if being quite so outspoken and provocative online is worth jeopardising elements of your "real" life.
[Post edited 19 Jun 2020 13:03]

I do understand what you are saying but I am very comfortable in myself to not hide. I know I put myself out there but some of the pile ons are bizarre. I give a lot of my life to a school for free, I don't care about people with no connection to the school or me that don't give as much as I do.

….to find photos of people online.

It's also not particularly difficult to not copy them and send them to strangers on the internet.

Plus it's common knowledge that it's not acceptable to use this website as a platform to do it.

To resort to sending around pictures of another poster purely because you are embarrassed that you said Paul Lambert was a good manager is even weirder.

Didn't strike me as quite like that, even if I can see why you'd be uncomfortable. Don't think it's something I'd particularly like to see become a regular occurrence.

There's been at least 2 or 3 instances recently where attempts have been made to nudge the door open of the real lives of individuals. Totally unacceptable and even more reason to never give out any personal info except to those you know and trust.

What time will Phil finally put him out of his misery? I'm going for 4PM, when he's had an hour or two after lunch to start drinking.

It's not "hiding" as much as it's protecting yourself from allegations/silly mistakes/weirdos and protecting the School's reputation.

You give out enough personal information on here for me to be relatively confident that if someone really wanted to they could cause you problems.
Why leave yourself open like that?

I respect the fact you want to be a School governor, I've family and friends who are governors of a local Primary School here in Stowmarket and I know not only how much time it takes but how there's actually a sincere lack of people who want to do the role currently, I just think you're going to cause yourself problems if you're not careful.

If you were an employee of mine right now I'd consider you a ticking time bomb, it's inevitable something eventually will blow up in your face unless something changes.

Weirdos are always going to be weird.
You've got to protect yourself from them, especially if you're in a position in society where you're held to a higher standard.

Which bit is inaccurate? Phil confirmed you asked him to pull a thread and you've now started this thread which seems to very much be about the thread you asked him to pull.

Can someone more TWTD experienced than me please confirm where we're at on the Blubbers meltdown cycle at this point?

3 posters that all have exception with me gleefully pasing around a photo of me. As I said I'm not particularly bothered (more confused by it) but there was no doubt whatsoever what they were up to. They were literally doing it in a thread I was in amongst themselves

If it helps, I don't want any photos of you.

Yeah really not a relevant point here at all. The whole point is that I started another thread afterwards, take that away and there is no point left.

Pretty sure he did. You're having a bit of a 'mare today (notwithstanding the previous issue of people circulating photos).

It all comes back to you not being able to deal with being challenged on the original post. I'm not sure what you expected from that, but people seemed to be reasonably questioning whether it is better to educate or punish a 9 year old when they do something that isn't acceptable. Next thing you'd escalated to inferring people were racists.

OK, I'll leave it and it doesn't appear to be anything particularly sinister or unpleasant - unlike some previous incidents along these lines including two which ended up being police matters - just a nosiness as far as I can see.

Police matters? Really? Blimey.

Posters shouldn't be real-naming him (or anyone) though.

That's not necessary or even acceptable really. It's a rather cowardly form of bullying.

He might be a tw@t at times, but doesn't deserve that nonsense.

I missed all of this thankfully, but another new norm on here does seem to be accusing random posters of being racist for political point scoring purposes. That should probably stop - in addition to whatever has gone on here.

Pronouns: He/Him/His. "Imagine being a heterosexual white male in Britain at this moment. How bad is that. Everything you say is racist, everything you say is homophobic. The Woke community have really f****d this country."

Thanks Jeera (and newcy and any others). As I have said before? normal rules don't apply to me it seems because I have different views on football to most on here. When i point this out we have a w*nkfest pile on of people saying over and over that it is a meltdown blub cycle. Top comedy stuff from them. As I state it is more tedious than insulting, all of those in a pile on yet they can't lay a telling blow apart from silly insults.

There are still a few decent sort on here and I have always been happy to engage with them and often meet them and never hide who I am
