So then. Just to summarise ..... 11:37 - Sep 1 with 4033 viewsWarkTheWarkITFC

- We have a manager that literally nobody wants at the club, seemingly fans or players
- The same manager had us in relegation form over the last half of last season
- The salary cap just came into force evening the playing field that we couldn't even take advantage of when it was massively in our favour
- We are looking like going for a system that we don't have a fit centre forward capable of playing
- We have one centre half we'd say is promotion chasing League One quality
- We won't sign anyone most probably until we have about 10-15 players off the books as the squad is ridiculously oversized
- Our best player wants to leave
- The only other player we have way too good for this side has just been slagged off for no reason and had a big meltdown on social media
- The few young players we have of promise have potentially been given the wrong approach under the guise of tough love
- And an owner that seems completely blind to / fine with all this

Have I missed anything!

If I'd played as well as anyone last year and as well as anyone in pre-season only to be told I needed to do more, whilst the same numpty praised people who had done sod all for 12 months, I'd constitute that as being slagged off!

He had a good season, but he wasn't free of mistakes or bad games, like all of them.

If the manager feels he's not performing to his potential level in pre season - he sees him every day not just in games - and we know how good he looks and how good he could be, then a little kick up the backside, and a very small kick, shouldn't be a big deal.

If Woolfenden doesn't start against Wigan then maybe he's got a case to start posting gifs on Twitter, but I can't see him not playing. We'll see.

And if it was most other managers kicking him up the backside you'd trust their judgment and that the situation merited it.

But this is Lambert.

It's like when Donald Trump says something you know you pretty much disagree with it before you've checked what he's said only to check and realise you were quite right too. Lambert is the managerial equivalent. Whatever he does I'm pretty sure we'll all later agree it was wrong.

Also were supposed to be playing from the back so slagging off the only centre half ( who has played in the professional game ) who can do that and threatning to play 2 centre halfs who would get distracted by a centre forward offering them free carrots is really going to work.

Plus side for Downes he won't get a neck ache watching the ball sail over his head from Wilson when he leaves for Palace.

Absolutely.

The depressing thing is looking at what Steve bloody Evans is getting out of Gillingham and realising that even he would have got enough out of our much better squad to have made the playoffs.

And I'd hardly call him a good man manager or a motivator.

He's not concerned about his public image or playing mindgames with players.

He just gets on with it.

... We need a good man manager and motivator (agreed), but who is also progressive and technically astute, if the manager can't do both he needs support from a strong assistant manager/coach

All the motivation and people skills in the world will take you so far.... Marcus has failed to hire and create an environment that fixes the lack of a clear system of play, that can progress us, provide a plan B during a game, and that is going to progress us as a club and get the best out of our youth.

Well ideally you need both, sadly we currently have neither - but here you could get someone in who can just gee the players up and organise them and we'd be flying

He's a scumbag and a crook. If he ever became manager here, I wouldn't set foot in Portman Road till he'd gone.

And the tragedy is...

...our club has fallen to such a level that I could see him getting the job here if we're still here in the coming years.

He's not a good man manager from an article i read a few years ago.

If you make mistakes you get called all the names under the sun if i recall correctly.

Of course that might have changes as this was a few years ago.

Yes, we should give it ten games. Because the other 78 are clearly not enough to come to an kind of conclusion about how good the manager it.

Yes. It's Lambert that's done it. Lambert who's been failing to motivate, coach or organise the players for the past two years.
The issue with *him* doing is that he's he's been doing it for the past two years.
Another, competent, manager might've gotten away with it, if they were otherwise doing a good job. Lambert doesn't because of the above.

Playing Devil’s advocate here but isn’t that part of Chambers’ role as club captain as well?

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Chambers does do that, but ultimately if the manager falls out with everyone, then it doesn't work.

He can only keep the players onside, he can't set the culture and if that is failing above him then he's p155ing in the wind
