Gibbs' passing hasn't been too clever has it? 15:47 - Nov 28 with 2622 viewsDubtractor

If we're being honest.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Looks a step too soon for him, much as he's absolutely a prospect for the future.

I had him down as nervous - maybe a bit of both. I’ve heard good things about him so suspect he’s much better than he showed in that first half.

Big step up. He's done ok but one or two loose passes. Looks to have potential though.

He's generally got into the right place then not got the ball right, thought he had half a chance to shoot early on too. Experience should do him good regardless.

He's not had the best debut.

I'd take him and Bennetts off now and bring on Jackson and Lankester for the 2nd half. Neither of those two have helped us. Bennetts no end product at all. Gibbs has had a taste, so that's enough as he's just got players having to recover for him when he gives the ball away.

Confidence / conviction over coaching based in that first half I’d say.

Not ready. Bizarre that he's leapfrogged Dobra given their respective age and league experience.

Looks miles out of his depth, I don't think he's kept the ball yet.

Still find it staggering that we're going 1 up front when we're so short in the midfield and have Hawkins and Jackson sat on the bench. Especially against a makeshift defence. It really makes no sense to me not to have a couple of experienced forwards on there asking questions of them.

There was once a time we would bring on a kid later in the game if we were 2 or 3 goals up.

Just to help out a bit with pressure n'all.

Mind you, if he were to wait for that kind of situation he could be too old by then.

I'm always one that wants youth to play, but have messaged a number of people today separately saying he's not ready - especially in a central role. It's unfair to chuck him in, maybe as a late sub, or in a wide role - but this will do us harm today

Absolutely, it's crazy and yet more evidence that Lambert really has lost the plot.

If he’s been in Lamberts plans considering injuries and Dozzell only 1 yellow off a ban, why on earth was he not on the bench on Tuesday. I’m assuming Huws has been told that’s it or he’s injured.

I've no problem with him looking at another youngster coming through, but to start is a bit odd. Hopefully that's is now and he'll take him off otherwise this debut could do more harm than good.

Just to build on a few of the comments here, I don't doubt he is a prospect, but just doesn't look nearly ready right now - especially when you compare with McGavin who has looked fairly composed in his starts so far.

Just bemuses me that we'd throw a player in like that, to ensure we can stick with the formation, rather than change to a formation that suits the best players available.

Does he fall into the category of ‘safe from public manager criticism’ or not though?

Always amazes me when people talk about chucking youths in. The step up from kids football to being up against WIlliams / Watson et al really isn't in the slightest comparable. Especially when you've got another rookie in McGavin in there with him. It's a bonkers team selection.

He hasn't even played much for the U23s, he's progressing well and maybe worth a few minutes - but this is just unfair
