Pointing out the first season was also poor.

Should really have been sacked then, but symptomatic of the inertia at this club.

He is so right. What has Lambert done for the club on the pitch in 2 years? Nothing at all.

Woah, woah, woah, what about those free pints off lukewarm flat lager he handed out a couple of times?

Lambert was given far too much allowance for the mess he inherited. Previous managers inherited messes and made much more impact much more quickly. We thought we were in for a long term project so we gave him a chance.

However, how 11th was accepted last season is beyond me. It wasn't as if we had started poorly missing players and things were on an upward trajectory. We were clearly going backwards. Now this season it is clear we are still going backwards. Nothing is on an upward trajectory except the length of our treatment list.

It is clear now that Lambert is on borrowed time. The bigger fear is who is going to come in and what happens then? Lambert needs to go. The longer he is here, the worse things are getting but we also need to get the right person in.

That’s the way to look at it, really. How many genuinely good home games in two years? Five or six?

The first season was weird. You weren’t the only one – the North Stand singing “Everything’s Gonna be Alright” drove me round the bend.

What about all those Improved Match Day Experiences when we were getting limply relegated?

I had a season ticket and thought it was arse too!

TBF, atmosphere was far better in the North Stand. It’d be spicy now too.

While I have every sympathy with Phil’s plight and think it is a disgraceful decision to ban him, and I fully agree Lambert’s time is up, I cannot help but think some on here actually need to take responsibility for the manager still being in situ. The happy clappers, I think you call them, were absurdly naive in his early days when they should have seen through his free beer and bus fare nonsense. Like Mick Mills has apparently stated, Lambert should have been long gone by now.
Even our legends fell into the trap, although Mills clearly knew too much to be similarly suckered.

Poll: Where are we going to finish?

Mick Mills summing up the Lambert reign perfectly on 15:03 - Nov 29 with 3282 viewsRobTheMonk

Releagted from Championship with a whimper.
An 11th placed finish in League 1.
Failure to beat any anyone that looks like they could reach playoff.
Struggling against mid to lower teams.
Useless with two up front because he can't coach it.
Banning Phil.
The photo shoot debacle with the young players.
Lambingo.
Dominanting possession... lol.

But hey go, 5 year contract and all. Evans must have been on the sauce.

Personally, I thought Lambert should have gone that Summer, but... I don't get why getting angrier in Spring 2019 would've changed anything.

We were fuming in Spring 2020 and Evans just ignored it.

Lol so you’re saying it’s a section of Town fans that are responsible for Lambert still being manager at this Club?

Ha ha ha ha only at ITFC could this absurd suggestion happen. Laughable!

I think he's saying that Evans would have felt inspired by the fans' engagement with Lambert which helped him go overboard with the daft contract offer.

That's not an altogether unfair observation.

It would be a reasonable observation had that new contract been agreed in Summer 2019. But in January 2020? On the back of 8 games without a win? We were long past that little Honeymoon by then.

To be fair, maybe next time dont get suckered in by free pints and 'Lambo gets it' nonsense, and pay attention when people point out all his obvious failings early on?

If we had (ok not me, wasn't at the games) demanded Lambert out from the stands at the end of our relegation season rather than celebrating it - I remember you and others talking about how better it was without Mick (it wasn't) it would have actually gave Evans something to think about.

The thing is Mick says it right (bit boring at times) so he must be worth a chance, cant be any worse than PL.
For Evans he has so many options with ex-players and they wouldn't be very expensive. Who would apply though!
I like Nash but he could find it difficult stepping up to 1st team. Butcher wouldn't take any nonsense, Burley only seems suitable for DoF, Dyer maybe too soon, maybe Venus
