Burton, the only team in the country to concede a goal in every second half so far this season.

Ipswich Town, come on down...

Don't forget to chuck in a couple of injuries for luck.

Dozzell will go over his ankle before HT, walk around a bit sheepishly and struggle on whilst our medical team stroke their chins about it. He'll then come out for the second half but break down 5 mins later and have to come off having aggravated the injury meaning he's now out for several weeks rather than a couple of games. Lambert and/or O'Neill will talk to the press afterwards about how impossible it is to prevent injuries.

I know it was under Hurst, but we basically ended Walters' career by playing him when he clearly wasn't fit, didn't we? Whatever's going on with our medical department just ain't right.

Halfway through typing that I realised that is literally what happened to Teddy Bishop earlier this season.

Yes, although one of (pretty much the only) thing Hurst was right about was the state of our medical department and made Evans dish out the cash for upgraded equipment and brought in a sports scientist specialist. By the time of the Walters incident he was in full on 'through anything and everything at the situation' desperation mode.

If. IF there's a fixture to show Evans how lacklustre we really are. This will be the result.

Oxford imo should have been it. But this one should be easy for a team in a promotion battle (cough)

Whilst I agree that we are not helping ourselves by bringing people back from injury too quickly, it should be remembered (for the sake of balance) that when the chips were down, Robson played Beattie et al with injections before each game - part of the reason Beattie's career was shortened.

I'm not sure what relevance that has when it was over 40 years ago and medical/sports science has moved on so much. A football club in this day and age should be much better at managing players to reduce both injuries and recovery time than we are.

With town we simply play players when they shouldn't be on the pitch

We rushed back Norwood. And it ended badly again
We did it with bishop yearly

If I see kyv in the squad anytime before Jan I'll scream.

Won't need to score in the second half anyway. Will be 4-0 at half time then our possession will stop them coming anywhere near us.

I've just checked our odds on BetFair.

We are 6th, just 5pts off top, according to Lambert and some players we are playing scintillating football lighting up the league and we are home playing Burton bottom of the table.

Yet still not even odds on to win the match. Can get 2.16 at the moment and I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole.

Kind of sums up ITFC at the moment.

Drawn their last 3 matches 1-1 including against Sunderland away. A couple of matches prior to that beat Charlton at home.

I have gone 0-0 but fear for us if they score.

Sir Bobby only had a squad of around 18 to choose from and he was expected to compete in all cups too. Hardly surprising that at times some players had to be risked.

Compared to now, with a squad of around double that, in the 3rd tier rather than the top tier, not playing against European opposition every fortnight and also now it is totally acceptable to be knocked out of the cups by teams like Stevenage.

What a disgrace.

Just made me think. Saw Atletico Madrid are 20/1 right now to win the CL.

Certainly not printing money but great odds.
