About how difficult he was etc, and then the compilation is pretty depressing - from 34:02

It's almost like the national ones don't dig deep enough to know how bad he was.

Maybe that situation, assuming it's true, also reveals that he's thinking about himself & cosying up to those who could prove 'useful' to him in future, rather than considering ITFC, its fans and the local area to be of primary importance.

I think it's telling that the journos he fell out with (Brenner, Stuart Watson, that Ham bloke) were all local ones, whereas he had no problems with the national ones.

The national journalists have worked at big clubs, Celtic, Dortmund, big pressure, unbelievable clubs, the highest level wibble etc

I like Brennar and it was almost cathartic for him, offloading just how bad it’s been. The highlights were dire and had some real low light press conference vibes from Lambert.

Good job from Rich of your podcast as well. I got even further fired up for the game and the remainder of the season.

Shame the performance was pretty poor, bar a few players.

I sense that Cook got more involved than intended - must have been hard not to with so many glaring errors on display!

I think Rich is excellent as a presenter. Never flustered, talks eloquently, never lost for words and is pretty spot on with what he says. He could be a presenter for real (unless youtube is counted as 'for real' these days)!

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Horrible little man, listening to that just makes you constantly say what a ...... Finish listening to it and then smile to think he's no longer here. By all accounts Cook can also get a bit prickly in pressers which is fine as long as its not personal and you can back it up.

I think most managers will get prickly at times, comes with the territory. Mick certainly did for example!

But being a bit defensive at questions is very different to just being unpleasant and difficult to the press, which is exactly what Lambert did. And as you say, he had nothing to back it up with.

Anyway watch Soccer Special last night? Hosted by Jim White. When he mentioned Lambert going he really made a point of saying we were 8th in the league as if to say what a stupid move, it was going well.

Truly impaired.

Very honest and decent from Brenner.

Gave first of all any credit that was due, and even made a self-deprecating joke there too.

But ultimately confirmed what everyone else had concluded about the man and some of the reasons he had long outstayed his welcome.

Wonder if there was a bit of cheeky editing with the clips of Lambert afterwards - first one from when he first arrived saying "I don't want to be judged on past successes..."!

Fair play to Brennar - tried to be diplomatic in his response to Mac's question but clearly the overriding feeling was that Lambert was a total bell and good riddance to him.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Bit of a wolf of wall street opposite thinking with Lambert

" dont judge me on my winners because I have so few "

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

Poor Brenner, you feel like his hands were tied with the questions he could ask at the end of the tenure of Lambert. I’m sure Cook will be a nicer chap to speak to, onwards and upwards!

“Poor Brenner”??

He’s a paid journalist and he’s it’s his job to ask the awkward questions.
He was just as obsequious with McCarthy.

The problem is the power managers seem to have to shut the local journos out.

I know what you mean about him coming over as sycophantic, but I suppose the other option is to risk upsetting the managers and get banned!

Not ideal.

Supposing you were right about the nature of his questionning, then it shows the manager in an even worse light that he treated those patsies with such contempt. Brenner might not be as incisive as Watson in his questions, but as a commentator he is top of the i-Follow offerings if my jaunts into other Home commentaries is anything to go by.
