Fleetwood on Tuesday 11:21 - Mar 14 with 5629 views | Dubtractor | Instinct says it should be a game we win, but looking at the table they are unbeaten in 5 (with 3 wins) and have the 4th best defence in the division. Has nil - nil written all over it! [Post edited 14 Mar 2021 11:28]

Fleetwood on Tuesday on 11:52 - Mar 14 with 5511 views | skinnybob72 | I had a proper look at the table last night and Town have played more home games than anyone at present with 19, Blackpool for example have only played 14. So, Town have 9 away games in the final 13 and only 4 more home games. It's going to be tough to move much further up the table and may be a case of trying to consolidate 6th place unless they go on a very, very good run of away form - starting on Tuesday.

Agreed, it’s a bit Mick like but I’d take two points out of the next six. Does put pressure on the following matches, admittedly.

I don't think home and away matters anywhere near as much as in a normal season to be honest. If you look at the table there are quite a number of sides who have better away records than home records and for many others there's very little difference between their home and away records. The more important thing is who we're playing and 6 of our 9 remaining away games are against sides in the bottom 8. Our home games all look very winnable as well.

I think he brings some boiled sweets and makes sure people go to the loo before setting out.

With no fans in the ground I don't see how being home or away should affect our game. Both teams ae playing in the same patch of grass.

I think half of those away games are against the 6 of the bottom 7. We really should be looking to win those.
Fleetwood on Tuesday on 14:24 - Mar 14 with 5142 views | Oldsmoker | Both Town and Fleetwood are near the top of the last 6 games Form table. We need to score the first goal as we don't get much from games where we concede first. All Tuesday night games are previously postponed games from earlier in the season - apart from P'Boro v Portsmouth which was postponed from Saturday. This page shows the mix. https://www.flashscore.co.uk/football/england/league-one/

I would agree with that, and we’ve far from set the world alight at home this season with some really pony performances. The defeat to Swindon sticks in my mind, and drawing blanks against Northampton and Oxford. We’ve also lost to Peterborough, Pompey, Hull, Sunderland and Charlton at home without scoring a goal against any of them, and barely registering a shot in many cases. I don’t think anyone fears us, but certainly there will be more onus on sides to come at us if they’re at home and that could suit us under Cook. Ultimately if we’re going to get out of league 1 we can’t fear the sort of run in we have. A top 6 finish is there for the taking, what happens once we’re in them is another question altogether.

I did think about the lack of fans and reduced 'advantage' of being at home and you have a very valid point. If Town start on the front foot in these games - as they did against Plymouth yesterday - then there is no reason to fear teams on their own turf.

It would be very interesting to know what the usual 'home advantage' coefficient is in normal years, and what it is with no crowds at games. Presumably travel and maybe pitch size/condition etc. still give the home team an advantage, but it must be affected by not having a noisy home crowd. I guess there is possibly advantage to a noisy home crowd when you are doing well, but maybe a disadvantage (fear factor, booing) when you are doing badly? Over to you StokieBlue!

If Judge had taken the Jackson cut back... on 22:20 - Mar 14 with 4655 views | unstableblue | ... and we’d scored a legitimate goal in open play I think I’d be more confident, and Norwood still missing. Still not convinced our defence , both in terms of stopping crosses from Chambo area and defending them. The hackneyed ‘tin pot league’ is simply not true this season. The gills was a tough game, Lincoln were excellent, Plymouth fell apart under our terrific press led by Downes, but once he’d gone off, they regrouped and should have scored. But I trust in Paul cook he’s making incremental change, parrots off the mark, a win would be a great result.
