Only ones on joes list I don’t really agree with are Drinan and Morris. I’d let both go, harsh on Morris but we are effectively taken a punt on a player who hasn’t played in 2 years I don’t think we can do that anymore we need players ready and able to play and know what we are getting. I don’t think Drinan is good enough and we can find better players either from out of contract this summer list or even from non league which will also give us a re-sale value. |  | | |

I don't think I'd keep Drinan, even as a back up. Hawkins will still be here? He's somebody I would think PC is more likely to feel he can work with and see fit into his way of playing and I would say is a much better option than Drinan in my opinion. |  |

My team for next year:
Goalkeeper - I think Holy and Cornell are good players, but maybe not quite good enough to be our first choice goalkeepers if we are going to win this league next season. I would like to see a new GK at first choice (Bialkowski?!), with Holy as backup and Przybek as the third keeper.
Centre Back- Woolfenden, Chambers, Wilson and Nsiala are our current options here, and to be honest, I think all have done enough to deserve to be in the squad for next year. But having too many senior centre-backs could halt the progress of our young players - Ndaba and Baggott. I would release one of Chambers, Wilson and Nsiala (not sure which) unless a championship club comes in with some money for Woolfenden, in which case all three of the out-of-contract CBs should stay. If it is Chambers who leaves, we should try to get him a coaching role at the club when he retires (whether it is next year or in a few more years time).
Right Back - Kane Vincent-Young, if fit, is definitely good enough to be our first-choice RB when we dominate the league next year, and Janoi Donacien is good enough to be the backup. Due to Vincent-Young's injury record, maybe keeping Chambers (over Wilson or Nsiala) as a potential RB is a good idea. Dylan Crowe as the third choice RB.
Left Back - I think next year is Myles Kenlock's year. He could be our first choice LB for next year, and because of this I think he should stay in the side for the rest of this year. Tristan Nydam should be his backup (also a backup for CM) with Tommy Smith and Bailey Clements also options here.
Centre Midfield - Flynn Downes, Andre Dozzell and Teddy Bishop should be our starting trio next season. They are all great players and work together particularly well. In backup, we could have Judge (also a winger backup), El Mizouni, McGavin and Gibbs. I suspect Nolan will want to leave, but if not, we will have him as a backup too. This is definitely not an area of the squad that needs strengthening. As much as I like Cole Skuse, I think that with the depth in numbers in the CM position, it is time for him to move on. He should be given a coaching role, though. Cole Skuse is the most underrated player (by the fans) in the history of Ipswich Town.
Wingers - This is an area that should be strengthened. I think we should sign a championship standard right winger, and try to keep Edwards and Judge battling over the left-wing position. If Edwards leaves, we need two new wingers (one right, one left). Jack Lankester and Armando Dobra should also be battling for starting spaces, with Ross Crane another backup option.
Striker - James Norwood, if he was fit all season, would be good enough to be our main striker. But with his injury record, I think we need a new, championship-standard striker, who could battle with Norwood to be the main striker. If we are playing 4-2-3-1, Kayden Jackson doesn't really fit with the formation, so I think we should sell him for big money. Oli Hawkins and Aaron Drinan would be the other senior strikers (we definitely need to keep Drinan), with Simpson and either Morris or Folami making the jump to the first team, if not necessarily in the match-day squad. |  |

I'd add Judge and possibly Donacien to your 'Keep' list, and probably keep only one of Drinan and Morris, depending on Morris' fitness.

I can see us offering Donacien a contract. He's decent defensively in this division and would be a reasonable back up to KVY. I could see him rejecting it and ending this chapter of his career.
Skuse I think will go off and do coaching somewhere.
Other two probably have enough about them to get Championship offers or a move closer to family for Judge.

All I would say is do not be too harsh on our defenders; they have to work harder than most other sides! Our defensive record is the best there is when our goal scoring record is taken into consideration.
In the last couple of seasons our position would be worse if it were not for our defenders. Ok I admit we need more pace all over the team but let's be careful before we make the wrong decisions. All players should either stop goals, create goals, or score goals. Some of our players do none of these, and we do not have a sufficient number that do more than one. | | | |
